I know there are plenty of threads here complaining about neighbours. Parking, garbage, etc. I have to say I am blessed with amazing neighbours.

On one side I have a couple that are great. We always help each other out, but really they do so much more than I do. Even simple acts like bringing my empty recycle bin up to beside the house so it doesn't blow down the street.

On the other side a guy who raised teenaged daughters on his own (that is IMPRESSIVE) who is always willing to provide great advice on my place when asked. I am still new at this home owning stuff and he is very knowledgeable about almost all elements of a house. He has also been known to plow the sidewalk of at least 4 homes on the street. He has cleared my sidewalk of snow on a couple of occasions.

Today I noticed that he plowed out the end of my driveway after the snowplow came through and left a 2' snowbank at the end.

He had no idea I am at the tail end of dealing with a kidney stone attack and how much I appreciated this simple but huge act of kindness.

Yep. I am truly blessed with good neighbours. I love this Town.

I have great immediate neighbours too, even all the newbies are good. Very lucky.

We had TERRIBLE neighbours in our first place in Milton. We moved into a better-sized home for our family this past summer and also ended up with awesome neighbours...on each side, across the street, and a few doors down, all super nice people. 0 complaints!

 I enjoyed yesterdays snow. It was perfect snow in the sense that it was thick, fluffy, and beautiful to look at opposed to the slushy heavy icy crap that we got most of the winter. My snow blower has worked perfectly this winter thanks to the small engine shop on Main Street just west of Bronte. An hour or so before I start it, I put in a heating pad on the engine and cover the engine with a towel. Presto - bammo, that thing starts up like a charm.

My neighbor will make every opportunity to call city.

My neighbor will make every opportunity to call builder.

My neighbor will make every opportunity to call parking enforcement.

Yet I keep on watering their portion of grass, cut the front portion of grass and try to clear their side walk as well.

After the first time they must think it's your job...be careful, if you stop they will call the police on you.

that statement looks funny, but it may be true because now the expectation has been built.

My neighbors think I am awesome. No idea why. But definitely true.

Awesome neighbours here too! On both sides, and across the street. We plow and salt each others sidewalks, bring each others recycling bins to the doors, water / cut each other's lawns on the sides we share. It's great.

(I did have TERRIBLE neighbours on one side before, so I appreciate a good thing when I have it)

We have the asshole neighbour. Shovels snow onto the road and rakes leaves right onto the road. Low class.

Can't you have a word with your neighbor or show your sign of displeasure?

Call the town to see if there is a by law for shovelling snow onto the streets. I know the city of Toronto has a by-law. I think the fee is around $250.
