Here is our picture of the eavestrough. Yes....it is STUPID the way they installed it and if I ran into the installers I would have no problem telling them. The way it is installed will RUIN my roof. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

I agree with you totally. There are many better locations for that downspout. At the present location you can't direct it to the lower gutter unless the downspout over the lower roof is on an angle and that always looks bad. It should have been located at the left side of the house or at least to the left of the left window. The elbow directing water to the sides of the shingle is also a bad idea and may cause a leak during heavy rain.

This is exactly how ours was installed (we are in a town). All 4 units in our block had roof leaks in front of the spout after one major rain storm. Mattamy came back and pointed the spouts downward which stopped the leak, but doesn't help the long term wear and tear.
