This statement by Professor Levin is pretty accurate regarding most males who kill their children & then try or succeed in committing suicide. Children are almost always considered possessions.

"He will have suffered some prolonged frustration and feelings of inadequacy, but then suffers some catastrophic loss. It is usually financial or the loss of a relationship. He doesn't hate his children, but he often hates his wife and blames her for his miserable life. He feels an overwhelming sense of his own powerlessness. He wants to execute revenge and the motive is almost always to "get even".'

I`ll admit I don`t know the details, but sounds like an absolute coward. My wife`s response was 'I guess I know why he was an ex-husband'.

You want to read a story of a guy that wasn't a coward in death, read this:

Very happy that we're making small strides not to lock these people up..

Devious, I absolutely agree with this guy having the right to end his own life. Definitely not a coward in my opinion.

Seems strange the police aren't releasing cause of death as usually it's not kept secret.

Probably so as not to cause trauma to mother + family
They do not see reason to describe how her child was killed

In that case they would never release the details in any cases. It's never usually that simple though maybe that's the policy in Halton which would be great if victims are given some control. Believe me the mother is traumatized period.

The POS probably did it for revenge against his ex wife. May his soul be tormented in hell for all eternity.

Rick should close this thread. It is pointless for any of us to speculate how or why he did it. Some things are better left unsaid.

Perhaps no more speculation, but sharing any information and resources available in our community to help our neighbours.

The mom, with her mother who discovered the bodies, was interviewed on Global TV last night (oddly on their front lawn) and it was shown on the 11 o'clock news. It was devastating to see her, though I think she was a lot more coherent than I would've been in her place. She said that there had been problems in the marriage but she had never thought for a second that her husband would ever hurt their child. Even in spite of what happened, she said that he was a good father and that he loved Noah very much. She said that she had left Friday evening for an overnight trip with a girlfriend never fearing to leave her son with his father, and that on Saturday afternoon her mom had come around to bring some soup for them when she found Noah and his father. It's a terrible loss for the family all around, but I can only imagine how traumatic it must have been for the grandmother to think she was bringing some food around for her son-in-law and her grandson only to make such a discovery. The one curious question was at the end when the reporter asked the mother if she thought that perhaps the father had taken his own life and their son's life because he was afraid she would leave him, to which she said maybe. But how can you ask someone in such grief to speculate the reasons as to why someone would do something so horrendous? I don't know that anyone but the father can answer with 100 per cent certainty as to the reason for this senseless loss of a young child's life.

Was it Cathrine Macdonald from Global who did the interview?
