We had about 25 children at our door this evening and I was expecting 200+. We had over 250 last year in HV and now we are in HVE.

Did everyone else notice a decreased turnout?

Only 15 kids showed up here in hv, all of them were girls, while we expected 50 kids...

Yup, same here. Good thing is, all the left over chocolates we have, shall be consumed by yours truly. Bad news is, yours truly shall be regretting it tomorrow when he stands on the scale...

Someone mentioned that due to the H1N1 scare, a lot of people are staying put at home. Not sure if there is any truth to it...

With two sick kids at home, we decided to skip Halloween this year. I did notice however that there were far fewer kids out than previous years and a lot more homes with lights off not participating.
I wouldn't be suprised if it was related to the H1N1.

We had tons of kids in Heathwood - probably twice as many as last year. I would guess we had at least 75 kids.

We had 4 kids, not including my cousins kids. I was expecting maybe 20. It was our first halloween (our first house) so we went all out with big pumpkins and decorations. It was very disappointing indeed. :(

I think we had about the same amount of kiddie traffic as last year, about 150. I bought 500 candies...I wasn't counting the kids but gave out at least two each and more after 8pm when I realised we did have enough.

Our neighbours had a lot of fun, most of the adults were out dressed up with their kids and others sitting on their porches dressed as witches cackling when kids approached. It was a great night.

When I went out with my three, someone stay's home to hand out. I noticed a few homes with signs and someone had barricaded their door with table and plant pots  At first I think it's a bit mean but then you have to respect that they may not celebrate Halloween or have a new baby...or paranoid about the flu.

We did take a trip to Winter Crescent, Rick's Haunted house was fantastic!!! We had a two year old with us so it wasn't as scary as it could have been...I screamed when the wind blew the side of the tent, don't think I could have handled the full effect, so glad we had our niece with us!

This was our first year in HVE, expecting many more than the 40 or 50 we got. Many of the kids were as tall as I am without costumes. In our old neighbourhood we used to get 150 all of whom had costumes so we were a bit disappointed!

I noticed this too last night ron. I found that some kids just came up in normal clothes and asked for treats. At first I was not saying anything but as the kids grew older I started asking what they were. Most just smiled stuck out thier bag and waited, a few laughed and one kid said (keep in mind he was 12ish) that he was a terriost dressed in disguse.

Since i give candy based on effort of custom I only gave these kids a little candy bar, while giving transformers, jokers and a few others a bag of chips and several candy's. What were other peoples reactions to the no visble custume trick or treaters?

Very disapointing. I think only 10 door bells, maybe 20 kids. First year living in HV.

All kids were in costume.
