I know nobody will care, but I picked up a windows 8 phone last week and couldn’t be happier.
Correction: not true, I care. I am eyeing HTC 8x, what did you get? Whatever you have, install Nokia Drive with its offline map.

I got the Nokia 920. I’m not a fan of HTC, so it was between Samsung and Nokia for me. I choose Nokia for its build quality, camera, and Nokia apps which are exceptional. Down side is that battery life is a bit lacking, and it’s heavy. I get a max of 24 hours out of a charge, and as little as 10 hours with heavy use. Acceptable, but not stellar.
Nokia Drive is amazing. I’m upset that I wasted money on a new GPS two months ago - I no longer need it.
There’s no RBC banking app, which sucks, but they are working on it. The Facebook app is mediocre, and Skype doesn’t want to link into my windows Account, but it’s still a “Preview” release, which is odd considering MS owns Skype. I think within a year, the apps should be on par with iPhone or Android apps.
The family room is very cool (My wife also got a Win phone). We can share calendars, pics, documents etc. We’ve taken to maintaining a grocery list in that room, and if either of us go shopping, we can check off what we got and it’s automatically synced up between us.
