Hey all - just wondering if anyone has used phantom screens for the one-door front entries and how much they cost?

I'll be contacting the place in Mississauga this week, but wanted to make sure I wasn't overcharged.

TIA!

Keep in mind that Home Depot (in Milton) also sells select Phantom screens and products.

We love ours.
We had one installed a couple of years ago, and it was approx $400.
We went through the Home Depot, and Phantom came and installed it.

You can use them in a lot of locations.

They're good for houses like ours - when we don't have a screen front door, just a storm door, and you want to take advantage of the breeze without leaving your storm door wide open.

They fit into the same space a screen door would, but they roll up in on themselves when not in use. You can get them for patios with french doors, or windows, etc.

My big worry is my cat with claws - the entire door is screen, and she'll have a field day.

Where is the Home depot located in Milton?

New Miltonians,
What size of door did you have yours installed on? Was it a Garden door, a sliding door or a pair of French doors.

I ask because I would be interested in getting that done for my Balcony door which is most like a Garden French door at the front of the house.

Hi Andrea,

The Home Depot in Milton is at 1013 Maple Ave in Milton.
To be honest, I now can't remember if it was our Home Depot, or the one in Burlington. I'm sure you could order from any of them.

We have ours on our front door. It rolls away out of sight when not in use. The frame is white, so matches the trim around the door, so isn't very noticable at all.

Thanks New Miltonians,

$400.00 doesn't seem like a bad price for it. I was also thinking of my front door as well. Not bad at all

Look into Wizard screens. Exactly the same as Phantom, parts are made in the same factory even, Wizard is just cheaper in price. Like alot of products you are paying for the name and such is the case w/ Phantom. Having said that we've had our Wizard retractable screen for about 4 years so I'm not sure what current prices are. Heres the number for burloak screens who installs them......Burl-Oak Screens Inc. 905-638-3252

Thank your for the number Adrian.
If you don't mind my asking approx what did it cost for your installation and door? and did you do a double door or a single door like the New Miltonians?

Please pm me if you do not wish to post on the general forum.

Thanks

I am looking for a Phantom screen for my patio door. Since my patio isn't too large I want to maximize space and not have to worry about furniture etc placement with the door swining out.

I went to the HD in Scarborough and the price for Phantom was 425.00, however last time I was in the Milton HD it was 400.00. So, not sure if the price has recently gone up or what.

I will give the Burloak screen place a call regarding the Wizard screen. Thanks Adrian.

Hey guys

I don't know much about these retractable screens but I would like to get one for our single patio door (what Mattamy calls a garden door).

Do the retractable screens have a 'lock' functionality when in use ?

Danny

The house we just moved into has a phantom screen and we love it too. This past weekend we had it open and the breeze through the house was nice. It locks pretty well with the magnets but you just have to take care in opening / closing it as it can come off the tracks.

Id recommend it.

Hi...

So how much did it cost including installation to put in your Phantom screen?

Did anyone go with the Wizard screen instead, how much did that end up costing?

Pictures???

Thanks,
Tony
