Interesting. ... we're new at james snow & trudeau... and the water pressure has been terrible. Assuming we're going to have to wait a while for the increase.....thought a simple call to the builder might have helped

Has anyone noticed a significant increase in water pressure over the past few days? There isn't a huge change in pressure in most water taps in the house, but seems to be mostly isolated to our ensuite shower, which now has crazy good water pressure - probably the best I've ever seen. We did not change the shower head, so there is no real reason for the change, or at least it was nothing we did. Obviously, I'm not complaining, as it is nice and makes showers much better, but I'm curious about the reason(s). Can any of the home gurus on here can explain why this might have changed, and if it could be caused by any potential (unknown) plumbing issues? Or did the Town recently upgrade the local water system? |

I also noticed at the home I inspected on Saturday that the pressure was better from the shower heads than it was at previous homes nearby. Not sure why but I did hear that the town was working on it. |

I just logged on for the first time in weeks to look up if anyone else noticed it. the water actually feels sharp coming out of the shower head. I live by HVPS, are you in the area? Mayber it is a local issue to that area? Matt |

I spoke to crew that were putting in new water main valves at the intersection where I live this summer asking them is there a leak or something because didn't they just do that last fall? I also and noticed that the valves seemed be different and asked about that as well. They told me no leaks, the valves are adjustable. I am guessing that the adjustments are allowing them to better control flow and more important for them pressure in the mains. |

Same as you, the pressure coming out of the shower head is almost too much (felt like I was being sandblasted). |

Do you have a pressure regulator installed? I inspected a house a few weeks ago that had a regulator installed because the city water pressure in that area was too high. The problem is that the regulator was set too low and only giving the home owner 45 psi. The flow was slow and only warm although the setting was on very high on water heater. Mattamy came and turned the mixer valve above water tank up slightly, as well as the pressure valve on watr mains coming into house next to water meter. if you do it, just turn a quarter turn! And no more and test pressure under taps. The problem is these plumbers do not as there supposed to use pressure guages when they do installs, hence the problem. They just wing it. |
