I'm in the derry and Holly Area in Milton and was curious if anybody else is having issues with the delivery of standard or Express post mail? the service has usually been pretty poor over the last five years since I've lived in Milton but over the last several months it's gotten a lot worse anybody else experiencing issues?

Yes, I'm in a different part of town but we're lucky if we get 3 deliveries a week.

I've had a couple of issues this year where my postal dude left a package for me in the mailbox, but neglected to leave a key. One time I waited a couple days and I guess he eventually clued in. But a different time I had to actually open a missing package report with Canada Post. Don't even get me started on how often I get other people's mail. I've heard a lot of horror stories lately, and there was even a story about it on City News a few months ago. Apparently Canada Post doesn't give a F and won't respond to general complaints.

I'm SW Derry and Thompson and I've had no issues, mail every day and packages as expected.

Rebel, is your mail guy the Chinese fellow in the Beige van?

The recent CityTV stories were about Canada Post leaving the whole super box panel open and driving away (i.e. everybody's mail boxes were left open). And you can't close it without the key - so it was left that way until CP could send someone out there later that night. This happened twice, although not in Milton; can't recall where but somewhere else in the GTA. Ridiculous.

I can't trust CP. I get various neighbours' mail all the time. Also on package deliveries, a favourite trick they use is the one where they don't bother to ring your doorbell, they just plaster the "sorry we missed you because you weren't home" sticky on your door and leave. I've had times where I'm home all day expecting a package but they never come. Open the door and there's the sticky. A quick review of the security cams shows the guy didn't even bring the package to the door. He just walked over, put the sticky on the door and got back into his car. Happens all the time. If it were always the same guy, I'd report it... but it's happened with different people. I guess they enjoy wasting your time having to then drive to the post office to pick up your package.

I just wish that merchant websites would allow you to pick UPS, FedEx, etc. Every time I find out they're using CP, I start cursing...

CP can go burn in hell.

Why would you not report these occurrences, especially when you have video footage?

You should post the videos to the internet, guaranteed they'd get a lot of attention.

I'm SW of Derry and Holly and I've had no issues too, my postman is the east-asian guy.

Hey kg, no it's usually a CP truck. But to the point about getting stickies on the door, our dude is so lazy he does not even come to our door, sticks the door knocker in the comm mailbox. I literally have made 10 to 15 complaints and nothing changes. Disaster I tell you...

When we lived in Beaty this happened all the time. I was outside doing work in my driveway all morning, no knock at the door. Went to check the mail because my tracking number said delivery attempted. "Sorry we missed you" notice is in my box. So I spoke to the people at Shoppers (where I had to pickup the package) and even they were upset about it because it means that every day after 5-6p, they have to deal with a huge line up of customers who got notices to pick stuff up. They encouraged me to complain.

So I submitted a complaint to CP. They told me that I was definitely correct about my concern and it was not right for them to be lazy and not actually attempt delivery. In about a week the service changed completely. Knocks on the door for around 2 months (my wife receives a lot of packages for her home business so it was very noticeable). And then after that....went back to the same old.

Has been better though since we moved to Harrison, they usually do a decent job of attempting to come to the door first.
