Hello,

Did anyone loose a kitten in the Duncan and Swindale area?
It's a female cat, white with orange and brown fur, light green eyes, and a golden/white collar with a tiny bell on it.
She is very friendly and comfortable with people.

PM me if you know someone who is looking for her!

S

Yes, but no replies... I can't "adopt" her, but I'll feed her; she comes back every day for lunch, then goes back in the wild!

Forget FB or any other folk remedy including this BB. If she's making a daily habit out of visiting, do this: take her into your garage one afternoon, and call the Humane Society and have them come pick her up, 905-845-1551. If she's got a microchip (quite probable), they can solve this riddle in one minute. They can be over within a few hours.

Found A Pet – Oakville & Milton Humane Society Recovered Pets Program
Have you found someone’s beloved companion?

Your first step: If you’ve found a stray pet in the Oakville or Milton Areas call the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.

During office hours you will be able to speak to the Lost & Found department to log a found report. If an owner is already known, you may be given information on reuniting the pet with its family, or the option to bring the animal to the shelter.

After hours, you will reach the answering service. They will take your contact information and the description of the situation. They will send an Animal Protective Services Officer to pick up the pet from your location. You will be able to reach someone at our number 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even on public holidays.

Hey Admin: can you make a sticky out of this and un-sticky some of the deadwood topics up there? This perplexing mystery comes up frequently enough I'd say.

Thanks, took her to the vet but there is no chip... the collar looks really worn out so she might be lost or abandoned for a while.

Same answer, keep trying. She came to you for a reason.

An abandoned cat with a bell on it's collar would not last long.

As suggested, the best place for that cat is at the Oakville Humane Society. The sooner you get it there the better so they can adopt it out to a person or family who will keep it inside where it belongs.

Bells on cat collars are supposed to help warn birds when cats are hunting them by hindering the stealth of the cat. It may not work all the time and some cats learn to walk / hunt without the bell ringing.
