We took possession for a new mattamy build a few weeks ago and we are having a problem with our windows pooling water on the bottom and now freezing. Has anyone else experienced this? Mattamy told us to the humidity between 35 - and 45 percent, currently we have it at 36%. Also the windows are not caulked, should they be?

Thanks

Yes, of course caulk needs to be applied around every window.

There are many reasons why humidity levels are high.

I would suggest you -

- not block HVAC registers with furniture and make sure they are all open.
- leave the furnace fan in the ON setting.
- replace the dirty filter that came with the furnace.
- if you got a humidifier, turn it down.
- run the HRV once in a while because it removes humidity from the home although I would not suggest you use it much during extreme cold.
