Hi all,

Quick question that may have been answered before....Last night around 4-430 am ish, i heard a snow plow on my street around holly and derry barreling through the streets for about 15 minutes and obviously was very loud, especially the back up alarm, woke the whole house and my neighbor up, wondering if there some sort of bylaw regarding this? Im sort of torn as at times the streets do need to be plowed of course, but is there a certain time they cant start until?

No. Plows are allowed to work 24/7. Noise bylaws do not apply to road-clearing equipment.

The other side had their windrows installed about 12am, and we must have got ours about 3am. The optimum times to do it is in the wee hours when nobody is supposed to be parked curbside anyway.

First time you were awake, probably.

Man people will complain about ANYTHING these days. Blasted internets! We’re all addicted to being mad about something.

 With the double and triple the rate of inflation municipal tax increases that 6 of the 11 town counselors vote in for us saps we should have under asphalt heating soon. This will eliminate the need for noisy plows so we can all live in bliss.

After all. When asked if heated streets would be nice. 9 out of 10 said yes. :)

People want more services than can be provided with the lowest taxes in the gta. At least that’s what they tell me.

You should move to Napanee.

Not mad, just would appreciate this happening when the roads need it, like the day of, or day after a snowfall, not a week later when there is 90% less to do which helps no one on the street.

So at the moment, we are in the process of having another windrow installed. The ploughs are out I guess "in preparation of more snow", but I really don't see that the existing heaps along the curbs are any different, the driving width of the road heap-to-heap appears unchanged?? But we all have new windrows to deal with now.

They're trying to improve their process. Usually they come 4 days after a storm to do our street. Today they came 4 days before (while it's pouring rain). Somebody needs to re-read the instruction sheet.
