for the last few months Union is telling me this in e-mail

this month it said

You used 47% more than your neighbours.
Efficient Neighbours
295 m³
All Neighbours
342 m³
You
502 m³
4 Jan 2018 - 1 Feb 2018
This comparison is based on approx. 100 nearby homes that are most similar to yours.

Anyone else ever get this?

Im concerned because only 2 of us here when many on my street have much bigger families. Im starting to wonder if something is wrong.

Wow, I'm in a condo, last bill was 108 m3 and the month before 164 m3. Either you got a big leak (outside at meter) or you are loosing a lot of heat.

Andy, any advise??

Call the gas company and ask them what they think. I had an issue with my hydro and someone there pinpointed the exact date when my usuage jumped. It was somewhat helpful.

Had you just forgotten about your grow-op?

Looking through the history of owning this home my usage seems on point with previous years. just them claiming my neighbors using less got me worried that maybe Ive had a bad leak since day 1.

Does 500m3 sound like alot for a 3 bed 2.5 bath approx 1500sft(i think thats my sqf) sound high?

also i keep it at 22 degrees celcius 24/7 in the winter some people go lower during the day but someone is always home so i keep the temp up, on weekends we like to use our fire place as well.

I dont care that I used so much. Im just hoping I dont have hidden danger somewhere.

My condo has no HRV and loses no heat on 2 walls, floor or ceiling. It's 1300 sft. No fire place and a constant 23 c, we are old farts.

Between the brewery, grow op, cigarette maker, and meth lab it’s a wonder that I have any room for the kids’ beds!

Spoke with Mason, had some good advise. Did a leak test, no leak.

so Im probably wasting? or maybe its my crappy hot water tank?

I plan to at some point tell reliance to come take their junk away anyway.

I just got kinda worried with the report from union. maybe its their way to sell their recommended energy audit?

I would worry more about a trend than a single outlier.

They gave me a similar report 3 months in a row.

If it is a sales tactic its a pretty crappy one.

Well, then it sounds like your neighbors just enjoy wearing slippers and sweaters more than you do. Or maybe they’re just obese.

My usage, for a 2500 sq ft detached home. Seems less than yours, but I ALSO get those notes on my bill that I'm spending WAY more than my neighbours and I can't figure out why...

In terms of temp, it's 22C sunday, monday, friday, saturday all day (as my wife works 3 days a week). Wed, Thurs, Fri it warms up to 22 for the morning, then is set to 19 till 4PM.

We have overnight set at 19C.

Something doesn't seem right. My house is 1835 sq.ft Only 2 of us. Keep heat on to 22 deg day time and 19 night and use gas FP intermittently. Usage of 312.8 for 32 days on last bill. My house is 6.5 yrs old so maybe better insulated.
