Our 9 yr old son lost contact with his toy drone about 5:10pm this evening near the Cedar Hedge Rd and Croft Ave area
Please check your yards/trees if you live nearby and reply here or PM us if found.
This is a very small children's toy, about 12" x 12" in size but powerful enough to fly over houses. There is NO camera on this drone, a very small and light 4 rotor drone.

This is a photo in our son's hand as well as a map with the star showing our backyard, and the lines the direction of travel before it lost connection.

You are officially kicked out of the "lost drone club" of which there are many thousands :) including me.

Next time you will not be so lucky

Gotta say, if I found one of those things in my yard I'd blow the dust off my baseball bat and leave it in pieces on the curb. Whether or not it had a camera on board.

I'm sure there are other creative ways of bringing the war to enemy drones.

Years ago I used to use one of those 29 to 30
dollar air pump water rifles to chase
away the neighbours pesky
barking guard dog.The things have
a range of 50 to 75 feet
which aught to be enough to whack the enemy drone.

or

as I recall there used to be plans on the internet about
a decade ago for
air powered
Nerf Ball Cannon

One hit with a Nerf Ball aught to send the enemy aircraft
spiralling to the ground in sparks and smoke

I assume no one has invented the
"anti-drone" drone yet?

Drone dicks you mean, couldn't agree more.

Anytime this much discretion and consideration is required, there's dicks. OP's kid excluded I suppose.

Wow, asshole neighbours abound. Wonder what you would do to a ball or a frisbee.

Actually those I just toss back over to the likeliest source, easy peasy no harm done. There is absolutely no comparison whatsoever between that and a drone.

And how do you know which side it came from, most people have at least 3 fenced neighbours, if not more.
Interesting you would not consider putting the drone aside for a while, in hopes some child came knocking.
I took my son door to door and spoke to neighbuors where we assumed it could have gone, and gave them a "lost pamphlet" with our contact info. Luckily the last house we went to, most furthest away, was the house it was found at. Glad it wasn't your house.

"Oh sorry son, we found your drone, but the person who found it smashed it to bits with his dusty old baseball bat."

Haha some kid (or adult, whatever) messing around with a remote controlled toy loses control of it and you’ll step up and be a hero with old lucille. Mmmmm hmmm....

Oh you just know, you know? I've never had complaints that we're dumping sh*t in random yards, I've got it sorted out.

Hey with these things getting cheaper and cheaper with insane range well out of line of sight, you never know we may some day meet! Or at least you'd find your drone.
