Hi,
I am looking for some recommendations for someone who can fix basement leakage.
After the recent few rainfalls we noticed that our carpet in the basement is getting pretty wet from few spots within say 8 sq ft area. This has been happening after every major rainfall.
All the walls are dry. Basement was partially finished by the builder.

Many thanks.

Did you ask the dog if he knows anything about this?

It's never a good idea to finish a basement without first identifying and repairing foundation cracks and in many cases improving the window wells which are often poorly set up. So,,, I find it unfortunate that some builders, who should know better, finish basements without doing these things first.

The cause of the OP's problem, likely a foundation crack is probably visible from outside. Common areas for these cracks are at the bottom corner of basement windows.

The least expensive way to fix this is from inside the home but if the crack is behind a finished wall then the OP can either open the wall or do the more expensive exterior repair.

Google - foundation crack repair Milton - for locale companies.
