The town land got snapped up by a single developer within the first week, and government officials say private real estate sales are starting to increase thanks to newcomers who are taken with the area.

^^ Can't think, where have I heard this one before? Sounds familiar.

Quote:
Roman Bodnarchuk sensed opportunity as soon as he read about the town’s sales pitch and wasted no time travelling to the community to scope it out.

Within days of the lots going on sale, Bodnarchuk had snapped them all up. The vacant properties will soon boast new single-family houses that will be built on factory floors and installed in town by early May, he said.

Bodnarchuk said the new, modern homes are expected to sell for between $149,000 and $199,000, well above current list prices for other homes in the area.

Are you kidding? They do not even have a McDonalds!!!*
(BTW if a BK is a prerequisite then what the F are you doing in Milton?)

*this should actually be obvious; even the small McD inside the Milton Walmart has close to 100 employees
If Smooth Rock opened a McD it would solve their unemployment issues lol

Is this supposed to be a criticism Minty? Don't forget, between the annual snow load and the blackfly/skitter population, that would keep the fakers away, there's a plus. With a virtually free house there you could afford to Snowbird elsewhere to avoid which ever season does not suit you. Our cities are going down hard in the next 10-20 years, do you get that feeling?

You have got to be joking man. Even for core basic livability, you cannot be serious.

This is like watching two Magic: The Gathering players argue at the comic store.

Lol. Our cities are going down hard in the next 10-20?? I’ll admit, I like full service gas stations and having groceries loaded into my car. And I hate bagging my own groceries. So if this is what you mean then I agree. But OVERall... I think the cities will be alright. This reminds me of when my friends and I were leaving high school and we looked at the incoming kids and commented to a teacher that the school looked like it was going downhill.... how the kids dressed, how they acted, etc. And the teacher basically said, don’t worry - every graduating class always feels that way! And the school had been around over a hundred years. It’ll be fine!!
