Hello
We have the airmax tempmizer HV system installed, every year we have heating issue, the house is never warm. Reliance is recommending to install new furnace (air handler, water coil) with monthly rent $200/mo including the water heater
My question would it be cheaper if we bought out own system? And any recommendations on who to call for installation.
Thank you.

I've never encountered a time where it is cheaper to rent than buy. Call someone like Mason at Nissan Air to get a quote for a new system and figure out the return on investment. At $200/month you would have likely paid for the full system within 2 years. With a system lasting about 20 years, you'll be saving a lot of money by buying it outright. If it gives you piece of mind, set a side some of that $200 a month you would have paid to cover any repair costs you might encounter. You will still be far, far, ahead.

What a shame. Are you in a three story town ? 5 to 9 years old ? You are not alone but try to avoid a costly Reliance rental agreement. It will cost you a fortune and burden the resale of the home. Start with asking your neighbours what they are doing. This may give you some insight. The 3 story town homes ( village towns ) often have cold first floors in the winter and many have attic insulation problems where the insulation blows around in the attic leaving voids where there is no insulation. This lowers the heat in the winter and keeps the third floor hot in the summer.

If you plan to stay in the home for a while then turn that lemon into lemonade and maybe spend the money to get a lennox air handler.

As well, with those homes there is not many HVAC companies that want to service the equipment.

Here is the AirMax website. The good news is that they have an office in Concord. May ask them WTF you can do to make the system more reliable and get a name or two on who you can call to service it.

Maybe 2021 is the year for you to sell and move onto a home with a normal and reliable gas furnace.
