Depends how open the guy at the place is open to help us out. We could either EMT you the money and every 10 or so you place a purchase and people can pickup at the warehouse, or pickup at a house here in Milton (maybe whomever is first to move in) or sometimes these work out well where you can have people call in their order directly with the guy and give their CC and although its a 'group' its not purchased all together.

The latter is likely less stress for you if the guy is game for it. And given he's not giving any further discount from like 10 > 38 he can suck it up :)

In terms of the GDO group buy, I guess I will start collecting the money. How do you suggest we do this?

I'm also for EMT. Dean, you could send a PM to us all with your email address and we'll send you the money. For people who want to mail a cheque instead, you could PM your mailing address to them.

Okay, spoke to him. I'm gonna need a PM message of your full contact info to put on the invoice. It will be your responsibility to register online on their website within 14 days for the lifetime warranty. The company is gonna have a truck deliver these to my place. Once they get delivered, I'll contact everyone to swing by and pick them up.

Calculate your cost and PM me your contact info, order and the amount you will be sending to me. Basically I',m gonna print out all the PMs so he can complete the invoice.

I'm never done the EMT. How does it work etc...are there any service charges?

EMT is really easy, here is a link.
http://www.interac.ca/consumers/product ... ol_emt.php

Basically, you will receive an email from the sender and you will be prompted to logon into your online banking, accept the transfer and that's pretty much it, the money will be transferred instantly into your bank account. There won't be any charges to you, only the sender will pay $1.50.
I can do it first, I can send the money today, so you can become comfortable with it - just PM me your email address and I'll include all myinfo in the EMT.

Hey Dean
Ill pm you our details. Let us know how you want us to pay.
It will probably be easier for you if we All do it one way. We are fine
with any method you choose.

Sunny&Geeta- thanks for looking into the home inspector. We are
interested and would be curious to find out the cost before we commit.
Thanks!

Andrea

No worries. It's what neighbours do! :)

Boo! Mattamy switched our washer and dryer as well (washer on the right, dryer on the left)! Anyone have any luck getting them to change it? Andrew from Mattamy said that chances are they won't be able to change it, but I wanted to see if anyone else with the same issue was able to get them to fix it.

Everything else, thankfully, at our Frame Walk went well.

Thanks!

Rob

Curious, but couldn't you just physically swap the positions of the washer and dryer? I think the power cords should be long enough, and the dryer vent tube is gonna be installed by yourself so you can extend it as well as the washer water hoses.

Tickle Trunk - no luck for us. Really poor design issue. And we have talked to man. Glad the rest of your framewalk went well!

#1- it can be done but it means extending the drain, venting, etcl And for us, we have a gas dryer so it would mean having the gas line extended as well.

We are going to stack ours now so will have to extend ours to accommodate.

Same issue with washer/dryer . We wrote a letter to customer service. because the only washer model with reversable doors is Electrolux. They didn't think while planning this mirror design. No luck. Nothing will be reinstalled. We'll see if we can just switch places, may be we would need ext. pipes.

We figured ours was going to be this way because of the reverse plan and what we heard on this forum. We just had them switch the swing of the door. Might be a simple solution.

It's not the swing of the laundry room door, GNAD. It's the way front loader washer/dryers open - designed for the washer to be on the left, otherwise, the doors open into each other. You can usually switch the dryer doors but not the washer doors. Washers open right to left, so it opens into the dryer making it hard to load the clothes from one to the other.

Dave & Sandy: We befriended the security guard. Every time we go to the site, we go see him in his vehicle and ask him to open up our house. He is always quick to walk over and unlock the door for us, always telling us to make sure to lock it from the inside when leaving. Never had any problems at all. I think Alex is going to bring him some chocolate this week:)

We went to the site yesterday and were surprised to see the tilers working on our home, installing all the tiles in the washrooms. They were Polish and really nice guys, asked us if we wanted all the ceramic accessories installed. So if you did not delete them with the DC, you still have the opportunity to do so by talking to the guys doing the installation. We also got their number since they install backsplashed....told us he would do it for $300. Although we installed it ourselves in our current house, it seems we have a lot less time on our hands now, baby takes priority:) The tilers also mentioned that Lot # 1 Master Ensuite is pretty fancy schmancy...Dean, can you elaborate? :)

We also have the mirror image layout and hence have the washer/dryer issue. Although a pain, I will just have to live with it. Not planning on switching the postion of the machines.

Questions about the home inspection: Is that for the PDI or 30-day? Do people think its worth getting and have inspectors found big issues in the past? I would like to think that because we have Energy Star homes, all the extra inspections and tests would uncover any problems with the house.
