interesting! i didn't know that. I also thought that you get that extra insulation when you have the energy star package...?

The energy star upgrade do add insulation all over the exterior walls that connects to the interior walls. Not exterior walls connected to garage wall.

It's funny when I see people upgrade their garage doors to insulation garage doors while 1 or 2 of the garage exterior walls are not insulated. :?

Do you think we could put the missing insulation on the wall that's missing it? What kind of insulation qualifies?

If you ask them during your frame walk if they will let you. Just get any insulation from Home depot such as Roxul Safe and sound will do the trick. Or if you want to make sure they don't pull it down. You can get the spray foam kit at Lowes. I remember it was on sale for $299 plus $100 off. It will cover all your walls and more. :D

What model home do you have?

Nevermind, you have a hazelnut model.

So all four of your wall have insulation? Including the wall above your garage door?

The rule I was told is that if you are too close to a neibours house they install insulation on the exterior wall to help in case of fire.

If security allows you to put insulation you can. I know of some people on our street installed insulation on their own. The garage is alot warmer in the winter.

Usually Mattamy guys on site wont care...but they will tell you no guarantees on if the insulation will not go missing. I would try close to when drywalling begins. I also know of some people that smart wired their homes with network, phone and cable wires. Goodluck with security...

I usually just wave at them on my way in. I've been there so many times and no problems since!

We had ours installed on Monday..

Not really much to say it operates like DSL just faster..

You don't really notice it in the browsing speed much but I often download at 1.4 megs per second compared with 500 kbps on DSL..

However the bandwidth limit is a killer.. We're just going to use Bell until Teksavvy supports this area with their high speed lines and then ditching it..

All this speed is great but without more bandwidth I really have to ask what the point is..

FYI
Saw a coyote in the ravine Sunday morning. Probably foraging for food, so be mindful and careful.
