Just a FYI ... If anyone is curious about their exterior brick/stucco/siding colours, I called the sales centre and they were able to tell me which colour package we got.

Just found out that I can expand my driveway and make it up to 6m wide!! Happy to be able to have a double car driveway! Now all that is left to decide is if i want to do it in exposed concrete or stamped :)

Is it infront of a single garage and is this through Mattamy? I know there were some by-laws that won't let you do this infront of a single garage! Maybe the City of Milton is reasoning things better and allow us to do this!!!!
Anxious for an answer!

Yes it is a Mattamy home. 34' lot single car garage. By-law changed at the end of 2009. I spoke with the engineering department and gave them the specific lot #. Robyn called me the following day to let me know that it is permitted. The only thing they do not allow as per Robyn is to expand the boulevard portion of the driveway which is fine by me.

Hi Kudzu

How does it work? I have to get approval from Milton Engineering? OR I can request Mattamy to do the expansion of driveway?
Any information on the process itself would be helpful

Much appreciated

Thanks
Gami

I was wondering if anyone with a 36' Plan 12 has noticed the same thing as me...

I have noticed a number of the 36' Plan 12 models in the new HVP area, including our's, have had the bulkheads in the kitchen removed along the side wall, and narrowed along the back wall. My bulkheads were framed earlier this week, and when I was there yesterday, I noticed they have been removed.

It was explained to us that with the upgraded kitchen package in our specific model, we will not have the crown moulding due to the bulkheads. Now that these have been removed/narrowed, there will be space above the cabinets to include crown moulding.

Would this mean we will be getting crown moulding above our caninets?

We were told the same thing, however were happily surprised to see smaller than expected bulkheads that allowed for the upper crown moulding!! Very exciting news indeed!

This is what my design consultant told me today:

The good news is that we will be installing a partial depth bulkhead in all cases where an executive, master or grande package is ordered, so you will be getting the crown

Any idea how long after sidewalks are done, until grass is laid?

Not sure. I don't think they generally wait too long. Try to keep the dust down.

To those who have moved in. Any helpful tips to those who have not moved in yet? Anything specific to look for? Something you wish someone had told you before you got your keys? Hope everyone is settling in well. Look forward to meeting everyone!

To all the new neighbors moving in......my advice to you all is - pay a lot of attention to your PDI and be fussy and check everything. Special attention to any cracks on the porch, foundation, caulking around vents and windows. List every little thing that needs to be touched up or fixed. These will be fixed before you move in! Anything else ..... There is the thirty day report. The Mattamy staff and managers are wonderful and very helpful.
Welcome to the neighbourhood!
