Please update when you find out when it is.

I was told about a month ago that I wouldn't get a frame walk. Then I was told I probably would get a frame walk. Never got a definitive answer from Mattamy.

I did get an e-mail about our parking pad being paved this week though. Which is kind of weird, because the garage floor hasn't even been finished yet.

Update from Mattamy:

"Your home is just being wired now. Your builder will either contact you this week or next to schedule your Framewalk appointment."

Got my call for Frame Walk (I just need to decide on a time). Anyone have suggestions on what to look out for?

broken studs,
doors being in the wrong place,
floors not being screwed down enough,
plugs and exhausts for washer and dryer in the right place (i switched mine in my old place since i couldn't switch the doors on the washer),
make sure all plumbing and vents are sealed.
make sure all your options you choose are there and in place (ie: extra lights, etc).

things i had them work on after frame walk:
swap exhaust and plugs for washer and dryer
fix door location for guest bedroom (was too close to linen closet door and didn't make any sense according to floor plan)
they put in a raised breakfast bar when it should have been flush

i'm sure there is other stuff. just run through your options list and know your floor plan layout to make sure all things are in place. take pictures also so when you need to troubleshoot something down the road or install anything into the wall you know where stuff is.

How was everyone's frame walk?

It went by so quick for me... but I was able to catch at least something (insulation in one of the windows was missing)... my CAT6 cable was pinched but they said it was fine...(don't agree but... i guess i have to pick my battles and it's covered under the 1 year warranty).

I noticed the garage height was pretty low... so that really sucks... (aka.. probably have to but a side mounted garage door opener).
I'm wondering if they'll dry wall and/or insulate the garage as well.

Also, found it weird that we'll be getting a baseboard heater for the first floor? Not sure how I feel about this (positive or negative)

Also, does anyone know if the builder is required to hook up Carbon Monoxide detectors due to Bill 18 amendment taken into affect already?

No one moved in yet in our phase. jbock.remax I believe will be one of the first and his closing is Nov 27th. I talk to some random neighbours that are from a different phase and for the most part I don't think it bothers anyone.

Thanks for the response, I will say I was a bit concerned about the train, feeling better about now!
