Today had the Frame Walk. It was a smooth one and the builder was helpful in every way to accommodate the needs.

You get to check if the wiring and connections are in the place you ordered. Anything unusual you can point out.

I had insulation not completed so discussed about that. Was told that if the insulation not done as it should be, it will not pass the test and approval.

I got it two months before closing it. I would assume for you it would be in July.

did you ask if you could run extra wires, add insulation into the walls, or put screws into the floor yourself?

They will make the house to the OBC, but that really is a minimum.

Its good they send an inspector to make sure it is all correct before the wall guy shows up.

I did not ask if I could run extra wires, add insulation into the walls, or put screws into the floor.

I was more concerned about the insulation as I found many places it was not up to the mark and the Frame work guy mentioned that it will be taken care of. I will check again to make sure it is done.

You could do the wires before the drywall is up as long as you do not mess around too much. The best time to do is just after the frame walk. These site guys so so much better than ladies over the design centre.

I was thinking of asking the coordinator to ask the construction team to have the floors screwed down before my frame walk.

Sharzad
Can you confirmed that Mattamy will screws the floors down - I thought it was nail and glue?

You should get that in writing. Theres plenty of complaints on this website about people saying they were told this or that and it didn't get done. If hes being honest with you, he'll have no problem doing it in writing.

Can some one plz explain why we need to nail down the floor ? Isn't it a standard process to glue and nail down the floor? Mattamy should be doing this.

Probably has something to do with squeaky floors.
