Hoping to connect with future neighbours on Orr Terrace!

We're Lot#: 179, Lancaster French Chateau

Here's what we know about Orr:

1. Sidewalk is currently shown on the outside of Orr Terrace (Lots 172-188)
2. Future Residential (between lots 171-172) - Detached homes
3. 151, 172, 185 – Light standard
4. 158/157, 150/149, 172 (future residential) – Transformer
5. 174, 178 – Rear lot catch basin (Both located in the NW corner)
6. 175/176 - Hydrant

Town's Zoning By-law the setbacks are generally as follows:

Minimum setback from front lot line: 2 m for the dwelling, 5.5 m for the garage face, 1 m for the porch
Minimum setback from rear lot line: 7 m
Minimum setback from side lot lines: 1.2 m on one side and 0.6 m on the other side (houses must also be a minimum of 1.8 m apart so if your neighbour's house is sited at 1.2 m from your common lot line, your house has to be a minimum of 0.6 m from that lot line to maintain the 1.8 m separation requirement between the two dwellings)

Hello,

We bought lot 157, based on your info it looks like we will be getting a transformer. What is a transformer? Do we have a sidewalk also?

Congratulations! Which model & elevation did you choose?

A transformer is an electrical box and it appears as though it will be placed between your property and the one next door (158). Keep in mind, any of the information I have shared is subject to change. I would check back with the Town of Milton periodically. There are many of these scattered throughout neighbourhoods.

No, it doesn't look like you will have a sidewalk. It's currently planned for the outer perimeter of Orr.

We bought the Pelham model the English manor. This transformer that you see, is it big? We had a fire hydrant, speed sign and a no parking sign all in front of our current home which I initailly thought would be a turn off for future buyers but we sold our home in 4 days over asking price :) I guess not everyone cares.

I was actually on the site today and saw the boxes lined up. Unfortunately I didn't take a measurement. I would say approx would be about 3 or 4 ft wide x 3 or 4 ft deep x 2 or 3 ft high

Hi Ashley,

We are actually gonna have a Clarkson address but it's on the corner of Orr so technically were neighbours. Bought lot 149 with hopefully a closing of March 2016. Can't wait to see some movement on phase 2. I'm so excited. I want to see things happen.

Lovely to meet you both, HRodrigues & MiltonLily! Congratulations!

My husband and I are also very excited. Haven't seen too much in the way of progress recently, other than street lights going up in Phase 1, although I'm sure there is a lot going on that isn't necessarily visible to us. Do either of you live in the area? Are you able to drive by the site often?

April 2016 feels so far away!

I currently live at Derry and Thompson. My older kids go to school at JV and the oldest works at the Sobeys just north of the site so I'm driving by there at least once a week (actually drove in on Sunday, was standing at the Orr/Ethridge intersection) I guess that doesn't help, like watching water boil...its all taking too long. I have read that some of the first homes are delayed. April start was pushed to July. Hopefully that doesn't effect the whole project and they've worked any delays into a contingency. I also dropped into the office and was told what my exterior colours will be. Arts and Crafts B6...loving it. So far so good.
Are you in the area or new to Milton?

I couldn't imagine living that close - I think i'd be driving by daily! We live a safe distance away in Oakville, so we like to drive up once a week to check out the progress. Although we're not from Milton, we know it fairly well.

In terms of timing, you just never know. Fingers crossed it's not delayed. What I'd really like is the design guide to keep me preoccupied for the time being....

Hi

We are in Hawthorne North phase 3 and had a closing of this month when I signed up last year in April...

First, we have been delayed to a September date and today received a notice of 2nd delay to November which will be our firm closing as Tarion allows only maximum of 2 delays upto 120 days.

Our design selections were done last October and a wait of more than a year after now to close.

Hoping Mattamy doesnt delay any of your closings and has planned some contingencies...but certainly not in our case...

So, just waiting...waiting....waiting...6 more months......

We currently live at Bronte and Louis St. Laurent.

We drove to the site this past weekend, just a big o' pile of dirt. We found out our exterior colours today, "Arts & Crafts" - B1.

Thats so exciting! Did you happen to notice whether they are also staking the other side of Phase 2 (i.e., Connaught and Whitney)?
