On this upcoming Monday's (May 9th) Community Services Standing Committee (Council Committee) there will be a report for committee approval to authorize the Town to move forward in subleasing the land on the Union Gas corridor just west of Thompson so the Trail can finally continue west-ward into ward 7 !

It's looking good that 2011 may finally be the year that this trail system gets linked up in ward 7. Only 3 or 4 years late

Improved grading work needs to be done before the trail is constructed to alleviate the water that's currently pooling there.

The staff report for Monday on this is here -> http://www.milton.ca/execserv/agendas20 ... rridor.pdf

Hey Rick, I posted this on the Bronte Rd. (should be street) thread but figured I'd ask on the official ward 7 update thread as well. Any word on when Bronte Street between Brittania & Derry will be open? I know the Milton website states December 9th but there seems to be conflicting info going around. Some say December 4th or 5th, others have said the 10th. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, it should be opening and day now. I'd give it a few more days. Last update was the work's completed, just finishing the street lights.

Thanks Rick! Much appreciated.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the lights are now in working order. As you said, any day now.

yep lights are up, lets open the street already. Ruhl has been blocked for 2 days to 1 lane. And even then a truck is blocking that.

I agree Richard, its been like a freakin' war zone some days. Dodging tracktors driven by these kids who can't even shave yet. I always wait to make eye contact with the drivers before I drive behind them. They don't watch and I've seen some close calls in the mere two weeks we've been here. And don't me started on the guys holding the slow / stop signs. Half the time both guys are flashing their slow sign.

Anyway I'm just happy Bronte is on the verge of re-openning. Thanks again Rick.

Hi Richard,

Its been close to 4 weeks, I have occupied my new townhouse. I have made several complaints to city and Mattamy for streetlights.
None of the streetlights are functioning on - Chuchmach Close.
Can you please look into this?

Thanx in advance!!

Hi Rick:

Any news on: (1) Union Gas Pipeline Trail in Ward 7 (east side), and (2) the Walkway between Cousens Terrace & Thompson Road?

Thanks, J

Hi J&J...

Dont know if this was missed or not because its not in the main forum but Clr Di Lorenzo had requested a staff update on whats happening with the Union Gas pipeline, pathway work etc... I think there was some discussion in another thread but heres a link to the staff report highliting what is going on.

There have been further updates about the lawn work/fixes that need to be done to Cousens Terrace backyards and thats happening as quickly as possible. The update was given at the Oct 15th Community Services Meeting.

Let us know if you have any questions.
