Can you ask the Mayoral candidates what they believe prepares them for the role of Mayor for the next 4 years? I'm interested in what the challengers will say more than Krantz. I know he'll cite his extensive experience, history with the town as a resident as well as public servant etc.

If you have the challengers go first, perhaps you can frame it differently for Mr Krantz indicating that Milton has changed drastically in the past five years - his history and experience may not be viewed as comprehensive when facing the needs of the residents in the newer developments. Facing many issues that are completely different from older homeowners, these residents want to know why they should vote for him.

Thx.

Hi Christina:
Here are a few questions I'd like to ask Mayoral Candidates:

1. If you could change one thing about the collective behavior of our community, what would it be?
2. What are your views about expanding the use of electronic social networking and other electronic media for the staff of the Town of Milton? How do you personally connect with people of Milton - do you make use of electronic media or follow traditional networking methods?
3. What is one characteristic that you believe every Mayor should possess?
4. If you are elected, how are you going to keep the professionals within the Town of Milton (from employment purposes). What kind of opportunities are you going to create?
5. If you are elected, how are you going to bring more businesses to the Town of Milton?
6. If you are elected, how are you going to control the on-going crime within the Town of Milton? Recently, thefts have increased in the town. What will you do to control it?
7. What is the most productive use of your time?

Regards,
-Riaz

PS: Edited to add more questions on Sep 12, 2010 - 8:47pm.

last year's budget was balanced on the backs of small business, ie, the mobile sign fee doubled in price. what protection from further gouging will the candidates offer the small businesses of the community, with the recession and HST adversely impacting consumer confidence?

Milton has no such checklist, nor does it have a sustainability masterplan.

Couldn't agree more with you and I would just add one more item that Milton does not yet have and needs and that is Comprehensive design standards. Actually that's probably what you meant in "checklist" Great answer - If elected I will be right there with you on this one!
