Hi Freemantrail family,

As a suggestion, why not look at holding the trustee candidate meeting at the Seniors Centre? There are already 2 candidate meetings taking place there so they seem like a good location to approach. If you want me to I will get the contact person for you, just let me know.

Kindest Regards,
Tony Lambert

Thanks Tony,
Got all the contact information on the various town facility rentals last night off the town website. Will be doing calls today to see what I can get.

Has anyone considerded having Sign Language interpreters at this meeting. Milton has the largest Deaf population in Canada and these meetings should be accessible to the them.....As should Council meetings.

To be honest, I did not think about this. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to help out in this capacity?

Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf
Milton, ON

Phone: 905-878-2851

I called EC Drury School for the Deaf in Milton and asked them that question, they transferred me to a woman named Leslie, I left her some voice mail with the all candidates meeting information and asked if she could call me back to see if anything's possible. Steve, your the host so feel free to call them up (ask for Leslie). I just thought that EC Drury might have received requests like this in the past and might have volunteers available.

Thanks Rick, I will call them tomorrow. I've been "slammed" at work the last few days and I'm still catching up on my posts here & on twitter.
FYI I've received an update.

The cost for sign language interpreters would be a minimum of $800 (i.e. they only use 2 interpreters minimum at events, at $400 per interpreter for half days, so that works out to be $800). They do not have any volunteer sign language interpreters :-(

Forumer, I will call them this weekend.

Steve

There was a signing "school" in the block next to sushi-ya on Martin Street - I don't know if it is still there but if it is they may be able to help and do it for the free publicity that they would get!

If I am in Town in the next 24 hours I will check and let you know. If they are open I will go in and ask.

Regards

Martin

I got the date wrong for this meeting and unfortunately missed the meeting. Is there a summary or any kind of follow up that I can peruse?
