Hi Freemantrailfamily

Here is the draft minutes of the meeting with the appointees to every committee including the interview committee which I will be on, which reviews the applications for all the citizen appointments to Town committees.

Please be advised that Milton Council, at their meeting held on December 20, 2010, considered the aforementioned topic and subsequent to discussion, the following was resolved:


THAT the voting process outlined in Appendix A be used where voting for candidates is necessary.

2. THAT the Administration and Planning Standing Committee be comprised of Councillors Barkley, Best, Cluett, Hamid, and Lunau expiring November 30, 2011 or until successors are appointed.

3. THAT the Community Services Standing Committee be comprised of Councillors Di Lorenzo, Huffman, Lambert, Malboeuf, and Nelson expiring November 30, 2011 or until successors are appointed.

4. THAT Councillors Cluett and Huffman be appointed to the Community Services Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

5. THAT Councillor Barkley be appointed to the Milton Accessibility Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

6. THAT Councillors Di Lorenzo and Huffman be appointed to the Milton Public Library Board expiring with the term of Council.

7. THAT Councillor Lunau be appointed to the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council expiring with the term of Council

8. THAT Councillor Lunau be appointed to the City of Guelph Well Interference Committee expiring with the term of Council.

9. THAT Councillor Cluett be appointed to the Milton Community Resource Centre expiring with the term of Council.

10. THAT Councillor Lunau be appointed to the Nassagaweya Community Consultation Committee expiring with the term of Council.

11. THAT Councillor Lunau be appointed to the Halton Healthcare Services Board expiring with the term of Council.

12. THAT Council recommends to the Region of Halton that Councillor Huffman be appointed to the Joint Municipal/Regional Waste Management Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

THAT Councillor Huffman be appointed to the North Halton Cultural Awareness Committee expiring with the term of Council.

14. THAT a citizen selected by Council of the Town of Milton through the Interview Committee process be recommended to the Region of Halton for appointment to the Grand River Conservation Authority expiring with the term of Council;

AND FURTHER THAT where no suitable candidate is found, the matter will return to the Milton Council for further consideration.

15. THAT Council recommends to the Region of Halton that Mayor Krantz, and Councillors C. Lunau and R. Malboeuf be appointed to Conservation Halton expiring with the term of Council.

16. THAT Councillors S. Barkley and R. Di Lorenzo be appointed to the Milton Hydro Board of Directors expiring with the term of Council.

17. THAT the Interview Committee be comprised of Councillors S. Barkley, C. Best, R. Di Lorenzo and Z. Hamid expiring with the term of Council.

18. THAT Councillors R. Di Lorenzo and Z. Hamid be appointed to the Milton Economic Development Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

19. THAT Councillors C. Best and G. Nelson be appointed to the Board of Management for the Downtown Business Improvement Area expiring with the term of Council.

20. THAT Councillor R. Malboeuf be appointed to the Milton Chamber of Commerce expiring with the term of Council.

21. THAT Councillor T. Lambert be appointed to the Milton Community Consultation Committee expiring with the term of Council.

22. THAT Council recommends to the Region of Halton that Councillor S. Barkley be appointed to the Halton Regional Transportation Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

23. THAT Councillors Z. Hamid and R. Malboeuf be appointed to the Milton Transit Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

24. THAT Councillor C. Best and G. Nelson be appointed to the Milton Senior’s Advisory Committee expiring with the term of Council.

25. THAT Councillors C. Lunau and G. Nelson be appointed to the Heritage Milton expiring with the term of Council.

26. THAT Councillors C. Best and A. Huffman be appointed to the Naming Conventions Committee expiring with the term of Council.

27. THAT the Milton Trails Advisory Committee be amalgamated with the Community Services Advisory Committee effective immediately.

28. THAT the Town Clerk be given authority to make any changes to the Town of Milton Boards & Committees’ Terms of Reference that may be required, as a result of the appointment process.

Thanks very much Colin. Excellent selection IMHO. Interesting note about the Trails advisory committee being combined with the Community Services Committee, but that really makes sense since trails is part of the bigger community services picture as a subset of the recreation portfolio. On the down side, Trails was the committee that held particular interest for me. I'm sure there have been many, many qualified citizens applying for both that will now be competing for the new amalgamated Community Services Advisory Committee so the competition will be stiff :lol: . That's a good thing overall for the town though.
