The reconstruction, realignment of the Bronte road/QEW interchange has been completed. There are three brick bungalows on the east side of the road that have been boarded up since construction began several years ago. Are they owned by the region or someone else? What are the plans for them? If the region owns them can they be re purposed for offices instead of tearing them down? They are a bit of an eyesore in an area that should be a showcase for visitors to the region. At least something should be done with them.

Hi 2nd Line

These houses are owned by a builder who will be demolishing them as soon as they get approval from the Town of Oakville to build a mixed retail/office complex (see attached) this application has been ongoing for awhile and complicated by the new interchange. Will raise the issue with the ward councillor Allan Elgar to see what is being done about them.

Thanks Colin.

On the map, what is the black line that roughly follows the creek south from the 407?

Hi 2nd Line

Thats the property lines around the creek valley. You have to enlarge the map to see the details clearly.

Hi 2nd Line

Sorry for the delay. Councillor Elgar got back to me and stated that the development application which has been around since 2007 has expired and there is no immediate plans for the area where the three houses are on Bronte. He is having the Town of Oakville by-law officers check the properties for any property standard violations and get the owner to clean them up or demolish the homes which have been vacant for awhile now.
