Before I became a registered agent, I use to sell exclusively with ComFree (they used to be called ByTheOwner.com ) - they were my site of choice.

There are great success stories, and some who don't make it - a lot of factors to consider, but definitely a great option to try if you have the time, energy, and knowledge!
For the knowledge part, I can bring you up to speed on all that.

Happy to help with advice or guidance if you need - email anytime fred@fredhelps.com

I like helping people privately - a few users on these forums as well!
The most recent people I helped sell privately are here:

Best of luck, it's a fun process - let me know if I can be of any help!

Fred

I was going to go the comfree route to sell my home but decided that I didn't want to put the time or energy into it. I have nothing against comfree but I find the sellers on places like comfree tend to have their heads up their asses. I find they tend to be cheap SOB's who not only stand firm on their overpriced homes, some even raise their prices (I saw one just this week). Perhaps that is why selling privately takes longer to sell. The cheapness factor :)

Actually, you do get a mix.
Some people on Comfree are as you described above, but others are actually quite reasonable and are very willing to sell for 10k less than market price so that both the seller and buyer can share the savings.
The only way to tell the difference between the two is by (a) list price, and (b) talking to them.

IF you change your mind and decide to try anyway, you should put that in your description right off the bat... "We are VERY reasonable sellers priced 10k below market so we can share the commission savings with our buyers!"... or something to that effect.
