Hi everyone,

I am looking at buying a house in downtown Milton.

The city advised that all of downtown is in a floodplain which means escalated chance of flooding /sewer-backup etc and they wouldn't allow ANY construction in/around the house.

The home insurance is also about 70% higher than a similar home away from downtown.

Now I am not sure if this is a good idea.

Please share any thoughts or feedback.

Thanks
Keisha

What area is downtown Milton(boundaries?)? What did it meant "they wouldn't allow ANY construction in/around the house"? Need more details. Thanks.

If you PM me the address you are looking at, I can check the property designation. Any home with a creek running through it, or near a body of water, may have some restrictions. Let me know if I can be of help.

Fred

Badboy09- it's main between prince and king .
Fred - you're right. Its because of the 16 mile creek. Apparently the low point is near troy's diner. The water table here is so high that your sump pump is always on overdrive.

Thanks for your feedback.
