Got a list from Tiffany Park about upgrades, and it lists this. Does this mean that if I do not pick this upgrade then I won't be able to add gas line for my stove after closing ? Is this a double dip in $$$ to get this upgrade and then another upgrade for stove gas line ? Upgrade Gas Line to 1'' $450 (above 3 standard gas appliances: furnace/HWT/Fireplace) **Requirement for future additional gas rough-ins (ie stove/dryer/bbq) |

Yes you will need to upgrade to a 1" pipe coming into your home, if you want a gas stove, and/or BBQ. A gas man can not hook up your stove after close without the 1" upgrade, if you have other gas appliances in the home. He will have to convert all your gas piping to 1" before installing your gas line to you stove. It is an Ontario by-law, to prevent your house from blowing up or something like that. The original piping is 1/2 inch (I think) This smaller piping not feed enough gas to run all appliances safely. In order to run more appliances you will need a larger feed line. They will then tap into the main 1" feed for separate appliances. |

It depends , you have to size the system based on a few things. Btu's of all the appliances, lenght of the longest run, and the type of pipe. |
