FYI:
Before you decide to get your AC from Mattamy ask where they will be installing it.
If you use mattamy you basically have no say as to where you want the AC
They mostly put in in your backyard, not on the side of your house

You can ask but I don't think they give much wiggle room
They will not put it on the side of the house, unless you are a corner or pie shaped lot
They will most likely put it, in your back yard on the same side of where your furnace is

I asked and they told me they put it as near as possible to the furnace wall
to keep costs down. Makes sense, but might not be where we want it. I HEARD ITS 200 BUKS
TO MOVE IT AGAIN.

Any idea about the OPA rebate ?

Just an FYI, the city decides when you purchase an A/C with Mattamy (any builder) as to where they want it located. Even Mattamy cannot change the location given. That being said, if you do get it afterwards (second party) make sure they take over the furnace warranty as well because touching the furnace voids the warranty. Also if you do have it den by second party, they must understand there are setbacks on the side of your property the city will enforce if it contradicts. You MUST have at least 2 feet between your A/C unit and your property line, if not they will make you move it at your costs! Be careful.

Apart from the location of the ac, can anyone shed some light on the cost difference with going with a third party for the ac vs. Mattamy?

I just got a quote from a Costco supplier for my house - Elmvale, 1500 sq ft - $3080 +HST FOR 13ACX LENNOX UNIT, anyone have any idea if that's a good price?

@Agata Baranski, @bd10

IMO, it is very expensive. Also, that model is not qualified for $400 OPA rebate. Check the following topic in this forum and call Craig, you will NOT be disappointed (Craig has tons of good reviews on this forum).

His prices are listed in this forum, check it out.
