Hello all. Can one verify whether Mattamy will allow you to NOT go through them for a kitchen? and if so would they give a credit and how much? furthermore would a 3rd party have to install kitchen prior to closing? reason why i ask is i'm looking for a "slate" color cabinet and didn't see anything remotely close at the decor centre. plus i'm assuming all cabinets are NOT soft closing....

any and all feed back greatly appreciated....

Can't say I know for sure if Mattamy will allow you to close without a kitchen through them. Even for people who deleted the cabinets above the range had a temporary 'floating' standard range hood in place. This is because they cannot close without the functioning kitchen.

As for the soft close cabinets, I believe you can order it through Mattamy, however a quick tip: you can get the soft close cabinet door dampers from IKEA :)

Unfortunately no one found out a quick bolt-on solution for soft close drawers yet

Adding a soft closing damper is cheap. but I doubt that mattamy will give you a credit for not installing kitchen items. They would probably charge you an admin fee to remove items! Take the basic kitchen as is, and make your changes afterwards.

I don't believe they are allowed for you to close without a kitchen since the house needs to be livable to pass inspection.

Furthermore, Frendel the kitchen supplier will not work with you until 90 days after closing. You can always go through another supplier I presume.

Only thing we opted for was no handles so we could install our own later.

For soft close you can get them at Home Depot for $5 (which is what I did) however retrofitting the drawers I haven't tackled yet. I believe the ikea soft close snap ons also work at a cheaper price. I used the blumotion.
