I am currently bored with my chocolate banana protein shake and am wondering how you spice yours up? Sometimes I add berries, but just curious as to what everyone else does. I use either water or rice milk as my base liquid (nut allergies and lactose intolerant).

Hmmm, allergies to both nuts and lactose precludes a lot of other great ingredients like PB and yogurt.

Is the powder already chocolate and banana-flavoured? If so, try spinning in some mango and kiwi for an exotic twist.

I freeze my bananas before using them in the chocolate protein shake. It tastes amazing.
Banana and water is always my base. Sometimes i'll add Strawberries, Raspberries or mango to it.

you can also try adding avocados for a creamy rich shake or make it thicker and turn it into an Avocado Banana Chocolate fudge. YUM

Thanks, I never actually thought of freezing the banana first. I did add some black berries and strawberries this morning but will freeze some nanners tonight for in the morning :)

You can also try this. Lots of interesting combinations here.

Advances in food science and in the supplement industry have led to many new protein flavours available now like cookies and cream, chocolate cookie dough, mocha, coffee, PB chocolate, mint chocolate (my fave), root beer float and orange creamsicle. You cant beat Optimum Nutrition proteins, but I like Muscletech and Dymatize brands from Popeyes too.

Whey protein isolate is the best protein option.
