I'm gonna try to organize a group buy for Canavac system with http://www.the-vacmaster.ca/index.html
I stopped by their store today to inquire about group buy pricing and I got a price they can offer if we reach a minimum of 6 ppl.
Of course the more people we can get together, the more they might offer.

So far they gave me pricing for 399LS and 700LS http://www.canavac.com/node/26 at $700 with the Ultra package (German power head)
Right now they also have 700XLS unit, which is same motor and system, except it's a larger power unit body and a longer 20 year warranty.
They said as long as it's still in stock, they can give it to us at same price, but quantity is very limited, so the faster we get this together, the more chance we might have to get bigger unit.

Let me know if you're in, and I will contact them again, just so they remember about the group buy and who it is for.
I told them my name is Martin from Milton, if you want to contact them yourself regarding the group buy.

We would have to make $100 deposit, once we have 6 people with deposit we can go ahead and purchase the unit.

Cana-Vac Model 700LS or 399LS with Ultra Package $700

15 Year Warranty
All Metal Construction
19 Litre Capacity
Dual Intakes
HEPA Filtration
Bag or Bagless
For Homes up to 10,000 Square Feet
Size 12" x 39"

Ultra Package (PKG. B)

30' Crushproof Electric Hose with 3-way Switch
German Wessel Werk Powerhead
5 Level Height Adjustment with Light
2 Sets Stainless Steel Telescopic Wands
Deluxe Natural Bristle Floor Brush
Deluxe Tool Set
Hose Hanger
3 Year Warranty

Update:
Karen will honor any walk in from our forum here as long as they have 700XLS in stock, so you can go right ahead and purchase without group limit.
I picked mine up today, no problems, hope the rest of you can still make it on time before they run out of stock.

If I'm not mistaken houses are pre wired for central vac, all you have to do is buy one, hook it up and install plugs instead of cover plates and you're set.
With builder you might have an option for relocating unit to garage

No problem, just the free upgrade to 700XLS might be gone by then, I'm hoping we can reach 6 ppl asap to receive the better models, while they still have a few.

Hello, sorry was away all day today.
Contact Karen at Vacmaster http://www.the-vacmaster.ca/index.html and tell her you're part of group buy for Martin for Milton and you'de like to leave a deposit.
I asked her to do it with visa over phone, as I live in Milton and next time I drive there will be to pickup the unit, because it's too far to stop by for deposit.
Once we have 6 ppl with paid deposit, we'll go, pay the rest and pick up our units.

Any questions please let me know.

Thx, will do. How much would the regular price of the 700xls with the ultra package be? Trying to determine savings. Did you pay $700+taxes or $700 taxes in?

I know the 700LS on their website is $800 +taxes, which is the cheapest I saw anywhere, just google that model and you'll see.
So they agreed to lower the price to $700+tax for group buy, which I think is fair, and browsing group buys for this model from previous years that's what it's been, I think I saw one group buy few years ago, where it was $680 because they reached a big number of ppl.
At the same time Canavac had a special edition model which is 700XLS, same as 700LS but bigger canister and bigger warranty.
Vacmaster bought all stock for 700XLS and offered it as a free upgrade, which I did not see in previous group buys.

Another good thing, these are brand spanking new, with production date of April 2013 :)

It's been a while (May) since the group buy, so not sure what they offer right now.
Your best bet is to contact the shop and inquire http://www.the-vacmaster.ca/index.html

Btw, who did you buy with ? Mattamy ?

So its $500 extra to put it in the garage if the hose fixture is already there like in the basement?
