I've gotten numerous PMs about the upgrades in the kitchen. Here's the full list:
- Alternate kitchen layout
- Master level package
- Upgraded Espresso maple cabinets to classic line (used to be a part of the royal line) - TGP 760
- Level II door handles - # 12881
- Clear glass door with matching interior
- White Ash quartz countertop
- Faux door on centre island
- Delete bulkhead and cabinet above stove
- Valence lighting
- Slide in range opening (Mattamy cut to the specs perfectly; there is no gap on the side or back)
- One extra capped light for pendant
- Large crown molding

Pendant lights were bought at Bergsma's lighting store on Main St, product # 22152-CF-PC from Dainolite (http://www.dainolite.ca/index.html)

Hope that helps!

The stain is Mirage Java..it goes well with the espresso cabinets. This stain has no reddish undertone as it the case with some of the other darker stains.

Dilex, I love your colour choices throughout. You have a beautiful home.

Is the newell post at the bottom of your main stairs standard or did you upgrade to the victorian post?

What colour are the floor tiles and wall tiles in your master ensuite.

The posts at the bottom of the stairs and throughout the whole house are the upgraded Victorian Newell posts...the standard ones don't have all the detail that you see in the Victorian.

The master ensuite floor tiles are Centura Incepta Java Jawh and the shower tiles are Olympia Toscana Light Brown...the photo makes them look more yellowish then they really are...in natural light they are a nice creamy colour. The master ensuite is the only room in the house where we went more beigy...it works well, gives a very warm feeling to the washroom.

Pls let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Dilex,

How much square feet of backsplash did you get for your kitchen?

We want to buy ours soon but don't know how to calculate the backsplash.

Can you also recommend someone to install, and about how much am I looking to pay.

Thanks

Of the top of my head, I think our kitchen was about 60 sq ft of tiles including the butlers servery. We picked up the tiles on sale at the Tile Shoppe on Laird in Oakville (403/Dundas area). We used John Lisi from Universal Tiles for the installation. He did an amazing job. Would highly recommend him. He is on this forum (just search UniversalTile and you will see other testimonials too).
