I own a Hillsview alternate kitchen layout, and while I can't help you with the exact price I was quoted for quartz (because I don't 100% remember and because quartz for the alternate layout was about 4k), I do remember that Mattamy's price was very competitive, especially considering it includes the upgraded undermount sink and upgraded faucet. I also really preferred not having to deal with hassle of doing it afterwards.. worth a few bucks difference to me, if there was any. :)

Oh.. also I was told at the time that the 'premium colours' thing only applies to granite, but for some reason they don't list quartz and granite seperately in the booklet.

If you have the plan and sq ft that you need - call www.naturalstonecity.com

I can pretty much guarantee it will be cheaper for you to do it yourself later...

I have been searching for granite and quarts, the best pricing I have found in my search was from home hardware. I am now in a non mattamy home so I can not compare for you. I know when I had a mattamy home the best price was from Mattamy

What is better...quartz or granite? Is there a big difference between the two?

Granite is porous and requires sealing every year or so. The colours and patterns are all unique and natural.
Quartz is non porous and doesn't require any upkeep. The look is more speckled and plain looking.

And I'll say again - sealed mine when it was installed some years ago, haven't since, no problems. My parents haven't sealed theirs in 10 years, no problems.

I believe you would be prudent to seal the lighter colours, which will likely show any discolouration more so then the dark colours.
