Dj, which phase are you in?

Phase 17. Lot 62. if you drive to Yates/Hepburn, you'll see the Mattamy Construction office right on my lot.

Thx dj
I am in HSV phase 1 and my original close date was November 19 but was told through an email that I will be most likely delayed as well. I assume they waited for the 90 day before closing to tell you?

Hi...funnyman82
My closing is Nov 05 in HSV phase 1, it means it will also be delayed. Please advice who shall i contact to because customer coordinator might say to wait for 90 days before closing to hear anything from us. Did you receive mail from Mattamy?

Hi hnfff

I only emailed my customer service person as I was curious when I should sell my current house. At that point they mentioned that the construction is delayed and anticipate a delay notice in August (90days before closing).

They won't say anything final now though but suggested I contact them again in another month or so to see how it is progressing.

Hello everyone,
Been a while since anyone has posted. How are things going with your homes? Was at the site this weekend. They're staking out the properties for phase 2. Basic gas and water stuff, no roads yet but I got a very nice pick of a stake with my lot number so I was able to pin point the location.
I have a big question for lucan kitchen design. We've got 9 ft ceiling on the main floor. Ordered the alter. kitchen and want the eexecutive kitchen. I get a crown trim on the top of the cabinets. I don't know what to do with the bulkhead. I can delete it. SO wants them gone. But the idea of having all this dusty open space doesn't make sense to me. But if the cabinets don't butt up to the bulkhead I might have a space anyway. I wish I could see what it looks like with and without that bulkhead. How much empty space are we talking about? How does the trim look with or without the bulkhead. Are stacked cabinets an answer to my issues. Will they go to the ceiling?? Anyone have any advise or personal experience or pics.
Thank you fellow owners.

Here is a pic of our kitchen before it was complete to give you an idea. We did above and below cabinet lighting and love it.

With the moulding the dust may collect, but at the very least is hidden.

Without the bulkhead it definitely feels more open.

Thanks for the pic. Very nice!! It must look great when the lights are on. I wasn't even thinking about the above cabinet lighting. I guess that wouldn't be an option if the bulkheads stayed.....still...if the bulkhead were there, the trim would look like a little bit of crown molding on the kitchen? Got to show him this pic. He wants cabinets to to the ceiling, but I already know Mattamy won't do that. And I don't want to blow my whole budget on the kitchen. Got to head to the design centre and get more info I guess.

I think stacked cabinets are an option. It's painful already to get stuff at the top of the cabinets with 9ft, so a step ladder would definitely be required...

Best of luck.

Ok folks,
Don't know if the Lucan owners are still out there. Phase 1 is progressing in HVS and my design appointment for phase 2 is happening soon. I'm looking at all these upgrades and probably need to win the lottery for everything I want. Having said that, there are some must haves and a fixed budget. Want to know how much it will cost me to 1. Delete the bulkheads and 2. Replace the knee wall with a railing. Probably going with standard pickets. Anyone make these changes who can give me a ballpark figure? Thanks.

We had our design appointment in July and it cost $1163 to replace the knee wall. Also, deleting the bulkheads was free. Our design consultant originally said that our kitchen would have full bulkheads and we couldn't delete them, but she thought that was odd because she's never seen a Lucan with complete bulkhead, so she offered to call the architect and he/she confirmed that they weren't needed.

:? I just got an email from my design consultant telling me in my elevation bulkheads can't be deleted? WTF? my design book says they can if the executive kitchen is purchased, which I planned to do. I was also interested in stacked cabinets. I purchased a Craftsman model. How would that make any difference? We all have the same kitchen space? I'm so upset right now. All my cabinet plans are in the toilet. Can anyone help? did you run into any problems; those of you who deleted your bulkheads? Is there anything I can do.....

Our design consultant said the same thing, we showed them pictures from other developments and she checked with the architectural department and they said they could be deleted but it was potential for partial bulkheads .

In the end they were deleted.

Not sure if having the alternative kitchen has anything to do with it. The longer wall allows them to route more ducts. But ask for your DC to check with th architectural department as other phases had theirs deleted. See if they can get a reason.

We have relocated laundry super shower and alternative kitchen. Those are the only things I think that could effect the bulkhead deletion
