Hello all,

Mattamy Cherrywood townhome owner here.

I am the 2nd owner as the previous owner had the home purchased directly from Mattamy.

Among other little problems with the house, this one has me really annoyed.

I came notice the inside trim of my bedroom window had detached and fallen between the two layers of glass.

I have never seen this happen before and can only assume it was caused by a bird flying into the window or such.

Attached is a picture.

Anyone had something similar? Is my only source of recourse to contact the manufacturer?

Thank you,

It wouldn't hurt contacting Mattamy to see if the Windows have a warranty of their own. Do you know the manufacturer?

If it is a Mattmay Home it is more than likely Jeld Wen windows. My home right now is Mattamy, it is 14 years old and they are still using the same Jeld Wen windows to date. I heard back then that Mattamy owns Jeld Wen. Not sure if that is still true. I would try the builder first and then the manufacturer as ShazadMirza said.

Hello Everyone,

I am a local business owner that has assisted a lot of people with their current builders grade windows. I will replace the foggy or cracked glass in your existing windows. I have been helping a lot of people with their Decora Window Brand who are by far the worst. Decora is also in milton near scott blvd. I will also fix Newmar, Jeldwen and Pollard windows.

I also replace Window casement window cranks.

Feel free to email me or call me if you need help with these issues.

Kindest Regards,

Derrick Block

Wow! I sold windows to builders and architects for 6 years and never saw anything like that before.

I would suggest calling Mattamy Warranty dept. and let them know that you understand that their coverage for window issues is only 2 years, but since they are the warranty holder for your windows, would the call the manufacturer to fix the problem on your behalf.

If they will not, call the manufacturer directly and let them know that the grilles-between-the glass on your window have collapsed and that you would like them to replace the sash or glazing under warranty.

If that is not successful, then worst case scenario the will send someone out as a chargeable service for a few hundred dollars including the new glazing or sash.

Let me know if you need more help and good luck!
