Hi Wildrose,
Yup! the valence was done by Mattamy and because of it wasn't a large area of valence, the DC reduced the price. We did install the large crown moulding.

The cabinets are Aya and the upgrade cost me $5K. But I love it. The cabinets are really a good quality, and easy to wipe. The island is blackened umber, and to have two different colours is free. I wish I went a little darker with the island, but my kitchen dinette is mid-toned, so I would've had to replace the set, and it's in perfect condition....

The bathroom cabinets in the main washroom is 1st upgrade, they cost $151 even though they are thermofoil.

The master bathroom is blackened cinammon maple cabinets, standard.

All in all, my upgrades went into my kitchen. I think it's the hardest thing to replace after closings, so I just did what I could through the builder.

The upgrades are really expensive.. but the result is so good! :D :D

Your place looks amazing :D

Can I ask what the difference in price was between getting Mattamy to do the granite and the other company?

Thanks!! :D

Hi rstar,

I am also curious about the pricing for the hood in Kitchen above the stove top. Did you get it from Mattamy ? how much did it cost if you don't mind sharing that info and lastly if you didn't get it from Mattamy, did you ask them to move the vent to centre for the installation of the hood???? btw your house is beautiful.

Hi Gred&Shannon,
We got the master retreat as well. and I have to be honest, now that my ensuite is through the washroom.. I love it!
I can just walk right in, after my shower and get dressed.. without having to leave the washroom!!

and the best part is that on those mornings that my DH leaves for work early, I don't have to hear him! :) Another good things is that I stuck a TV in my retreat, and I can close the doors and watch Desperate Housewives.. from my bed! while my hubby watches football on Sunday night!! in the family room:) YEAH!

The double door entrance to the master bedroom also is a nice touch. I did see another shadebush without the retreat, it was nice as well, but smaller.. but thier upper hallway was very open....

good luck with your interior choices.. that is the hard part! :D
