I thought most bulkheads had ductwork running through them?

Is the range hood ductless where there is no bulkheads?

No it's not and can never be.
But, instead of running the duct up and then locating a hole, they make a hole through your wall inside the upper cabinets above the hood.

TechMonkeysWife, your kitchen is beautiful. I really like the bullnose edging on your granite. May I ask where you got your pendant lights? (they are fabulous.)

Thank you.
I bought them at a lighting shop on Dundas near Dunwin in Mississauga.
It's beside Tasco. The name of the store escapes me right now.
I looked around the store and didn't see what I wanted, but had a photo with me of something similar I was looking for and the owner showed me pretty much exactly the style in his special order catalogue.
I did have to wait a week or two for him to get it in, but it didn't cost more to do so.

The photo below is a bit off colour, but the fixtures are a very deep brown, however, look black which is what I was going for.

Nice kitchen :D Now I know why you liked mine

Is that the Price Pfister Hanover faucet :)
Mine is very similar in shape. And I like your backsplash with the linear strip mosaics. Good colour choices, I should know

Thanks so much, TechMonkeys Wife! Now we can do the same thing when we go out light shopping, except our photo will be the one of your kitchen above. :)

Wow, I'm upset that we didn't even know this was an option!!
I would have deleted them for sure.

My design consultant was on the ball!!
I would have been so surprised if she wasn't, Tiffany is AMAZING!
Because we went with a kitchen package the bulkheads were automatically deleted, hence she didn't ask. We just didn't realize because we haven't seen the 3D drawings of the kitchen as they were not available to Mattamy when we picked our kitchen but we will be getting them soon.

Thanks for the info and the pictures, much appreciated.

We upgraded to 9ft ceilings, would there still be bulkheads? And our stove is on an outside wall, so sounds like this might be promising

How much is it to delete the bulkheads?

Our main floor came w/ 9ft ceilings by default, but we had to request they remove the bulkheads. They will only do it if they can run the duct elsewhere.

Thanks, I'm hoping they can run it elsewhere but wont know for awhile.
