We are closing in May and are excited to see the finished product.

what would you like to see?

Do you have any pics of the great room, we are trying to figure out where to put the sofa and the tv.
And the master bed room.

Thanks!

I'll see what I can do about pictures...
in description, we mounted the TV on the wall shared by the bathroom. we then used to have two loveseats. One against the window and the other against the wall against the side of the house.

THEN! we switch to a massive sections, which fits perfectly. The sectional keeps the open field while making great use of that same corner between the windows and the side of the house. We are thrilled about how large it makes the room field while still seating 7+ people very comfortably

SP, wow that's a gorgeous fireplace wall!!

Can I ask a question ... does the fireplace throw off much heat? We're thinking about putting an electric fireplace in our master bedroom but aren't sure what kind of heating capability they have. What's been your experience?

Thanks!

Thanks! The great thing about this fireplace it that you can use it with or without heat. Also, there are 2 heat settings - low and high, so if you dont want too much heat you can keep in on the low setting. I haven't really used it with the heat, but apparently they can give off enough heat to heat up a small room.

The glass does get warm if you use the heat, but I'm pretty sure you can find models that stay cool to the touch even when the heat is on.

SP - love your great room layout!

this is what we are thinking of doing as well, have a sectional against the wall with the window and put the tv on the wall near the washroom. unfortunatly we weren't thinking this way when we picked our placement of the cable plug. we put it on the wall perpendicular to the window wall in the middle :(

I got the fireplace from home depot, but they sell them in all kinds of stores so its best to shop around.

You can always move the location of your cable, it would involve opening up the wall a little, but it can be done.

Thanks! I've wanted this for so long and am very happy to finally have it!

And to answer the question above, the fireplace simply plugs in to a regular outlet and hangs just like a tv on a mount

Hey SP, awesome pics!! I too would love to get an electric fireplace.
Quick question i had about your television - I believe you have analog tv going on, as i do not see any digital box or home theater or any gaming system conected?

You are correct, we don't use the gaming systems often enough, so we decided to just plug those in as needed.

The electric fireplace was the best way to go I think for that location because there is plumbing in that wall.

We have our TV mounted on this wall (middle wall) and have no complaints.

It seems like everyone who purchased a 34' Plan 3 home have it on the wall shared w/ the bathroom.
