I hate this lip in the powder room, but I like what you did with it.. I would have tried to delete it had I known how useless it was. Not that I knew it was there...

It says per stair case because in the village homes there are two sets of stairs and we had to pay per stair case, so $1,960 for the stain.

Village homes?? So the 3 story homes?? Yes completely understandable for those homes.. hence the "per flight of stairs" We are hillsview towns so we only pay once.

We're upgrading the whole staircase to square pickets, but since there aren't techinically any pickets leading to the basement - only a handrail - we will only have to order this upgrade for one flight to have all the pickets upgraded, apparently. :) I was worried we'd have to order everything x2 because of the partially finished stairs leading to the basement door / powder room.

Did you have all wood staircase, or carpeted stairs? Thanks again!

I have Maple stairs which I love but they are more work to keep clean.

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to upgrade to stainless appliances?
or to change to stairs to all wood?

Oak stairs are approx. $2900, Maple $3800 + $980 for stain and if you change to square pickets, add another $110.

I hope this worked?? Here is our fireplace with TV.. It's fantastic.. I heard they don't do the inserted TV wall anymore.. Not 100% though, it may just be the friends house they bought. (Makes the TV flush with the wall.)

And Jonathon & Rebecca.. I hope you get that asking price!!!

Odd Job jay - That powder room looks AMAZING.. How did you get rid of the lip on the wall behind the door?? Or was there one? They may be all different, we have it on both walls. And you can't tease us with just that pic.. what else have you done??

We didn't have the ledge behind the door. As you can see from the pic, I used a piece of hardwood stair nose to extend the ledge into more of a shelf.

As for other things.. not a whole lot yet.. just finished new flooring today, backsplash, custom electric fireplace. The rest is all minor stuff that should have been done in the first place, like tiling the whole foyer.

They didn't extend the tiles when you upgraded to hardwood stairs?? If it's the pic you have on Facebook. They extended ours.. but we have a step up to where you had the carpet.. It isn't level. (Different grading I'm assuming)

How much for hardwood on the main level???

For all those Hillsview owners with a non-end-unit. What are your thoughts on the metres being on the front of the house? Has anyone done anything to cover it? I'm thinking of getting a custom shutter made for it (the design consultant said that's fine as long as it's not locked). Does anyone have any ideas or pics? :)
