Well I have to say, now that I have seen the Juneberry with both kitchen layouts, (very glad that I took the time to see both) I had my mind set on the alternative kitchen, I was getting that upgrade for sure...
But now I think I like the regular layout.
What does everyone else think?
I heard the fireplace has an open space above it, but I have not seen this yet. I think it will give the space a more open feeling, and a nice flow to bring the eye through the home. So far I think I will be keeping mine open. Just trying to get a feel of the home and other peoples opinions.
I also want to remove the closet in bedroom #4, extend the counter top in master en suite and move the toilet 45% to the left allowing space in front of shower.

So, what do you think! What do you have planned for your homes...
Any really neat idea's out there!

I still like the alternate kitchen myself. I would have left the space above the fireplace open however we wanted to hang our tv above it so we had to close it. I'm not sure Mattamy will let you move the toilet and extend the countertop in the bathroom. They seem to be less accommodating with these sorts of changes nowadays. But try, you never know!

I know, there are very sticky now. I'm hoping cuz it's not a really structural change... well we'll see.

I like the alternate kitchen too. In my previous home I have had the sink in the Island and I love it. (you can see what's going on in your home while doing the dishes). Only the lot I purchased is a funny shaped lot, so if they place the home on my lot the way I hope they will, then with that extra window I will get a good view of my back/side yard.
I wish, I knew how they are placing my home on the lot. Oh well.... in due time.
I can't change the way they place it anyways, so I'll have to work with whatever they give me. :)

milton_bound: thank you so much for the pics of your Juneberry. I just LOVE the choices you made. Your kitchen is spectacular, the hardwood is beautiful, lovely tiles, I could go on and on. What a beautiful home!

We're doing the alternate kitchen for sure, with a flush vs. raised breakfast bar. We are hoping they'll let us switch the locations of the stove and fridge in it, so that the stove is on the back wall behind the sink and the fridge is on the side wall (so less hubby underfoot when I'm cooking and he wants in the fridge :)).

Hadn't thought about the fireplace being open until now, but after seeing mb's pics we can't imagine it looking better than that. So we'll want the wall up to the ceiling ... plus it feels a bit more private vs. having people at the front door being able to see us sitting in the family room.

Justagirl, we want to do the same thing re. moving the ensuite toilet and deleting the bedroom 4 closet. We asked about it at the sales center before we bought and they said they design center wouldn't entertain that change. Mind you they also said they wouldn't delete the jack-and-jill doors and they did that for mb no problem ... so who knows. We will push for it for sure, and hope for the best!

I second everything that MiltonLeo said- MB your pictures are awesome and your home is beautiful :D

I like your idea justagirl (and it was nice to see you again yesterday!) with regards to the moving the toilet ove and deleting the bedroom 4 closet. We would love to widen the shower door by at least 6-8 inches as well if possible as we were able to do that in this home but who knows what they will and won't do anymore.

After seeing the regular kitchen yesterday I think we are planning on going with the alternate for sure. I'm not thrilled with the location of the stove being so close to the the hallway and livingroom- but other than that it looked great.

An idea that my husband has is to delet the wall between the his and her closet in the master bedroom....

Glad you enjoyed the pics. Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully seeing the finished product helps you out.

Interesting thought about combining the his/her closet. You'd lose some hanger space, but not too much really. The closet wouldn't be deep enough to put another hanger shelf on the wall backing the bedroom (along the wall between the 2 closet doors), but there would be lots of room for hooks for your robes, jeans, etc., and/or perhaps a bench, shoe rack, etc.

I picked TS-14, but my home will not close till 2010.

Looks like our Juneberry homes have dropped by $5,000. :(

ShellyD most people that I know who have the juneberry C have picked TS-12 or TS-14- haven't seen any yet with TS-15 but there are other houses with the TS-15 package that you can probably look at....

I know I'm not thrilled. :(
That could have been more upgrades.

Justagirl, don't quote me on this but I had thought the 5K increase was only applicable to Vista anyway so I'm not sure the prices did actually drop 5K. That is, I'm pretty sure the juneberries in HV and HVE were always going for the current prices, and Vista just has a bit of a 'phase premium' ... if that makes you feel any better. :)

Btw, I picked TS14 too and so did Buttafly. You ladies clearly have excellent taste!!!
