I think everyone's going to be checking it out to see what kind of homes they are offering and for what price. I love looking at the "potential" profit that we've made- I say potential because we aren't planning on selling anytime soon.

Hey Sal, is your buddy's name John Molinaro?
As for going to games, unless TFC makes the playoffs (big game this Saturday), I'll see you in April.
Totalpkg, we should start the Red Patch Boys Milton Chapter :)

Just found this forum and thought I would introduce ourselves, - we are the "nice young couple with kids" Dilex mentioned, who are building on lot 14. We're building a Shining Willow, with extra 2nd floor, elevation C. It seems like our street already has a great community feel and we are really looking forward to meeting everyone!

Sandy and I are going to be moving to Milton from London in a couple of weeks, to take up new jobs/positions in Waterloo and Toronto respecitively. We have 2 kids, a 4.5 year old boy and a 2.5 year old girl.

To those mountain bikers out there - I'm in! (Also if anyone is interested in road riding or rock climbing - I'm also in!).

Thanks everyone for posting all of the information about upgrades, lots, and pictures!

Hi Dave and Sandy .... welcome to the street!
Lot #14 ... we know it too well. Christine and I were on the fence with this lot and the house! It's got a really neat and different layout, and with elev C makes it even more interesting. Great view of the wood lot as well :)
Yup, i'm definetly in for the mtbiking, road biking, snowboarding, rock climbing etc etc :D

Sal & Christine

btw i found a great listing of the shining willow .... WOW, check this house out!

Welcome Dave and Sandy! We're just a few doors down at #17 :)

We're with you, #1, we'll end up doing most non-structurals after market. We'll get hardwood on the stairs and a couple things here and there (maybe a kitchen upgrade) but floors, counters, etc. we'll do later. We'll probably try to use the carpet and countertops, etc. in our basement when we finish it.

Thanks to everyone for sending your email addresses. I've sent out evites to our Coombes Crescent party to everyone that has sent me an email. If you haven't received an evite in your email, check your junk mail or if you haven't already, send me your email.

Is it Nov. 2010 yet?????

I'm sure we can get some more peeps in to start a chapter, however, I bet you there is a Milton chapter already.

Hey Everyone,

Arista puts out some amazing homes!! I honestly would have preferred them but they are expensive...actually now that the houses for Mattamy have gone up in $ and Arista etc is opening Saturday, I think Mattamy will finally have some competition! My brother has an Arista and it is amazing.

I check their website and couldn't find the new release of homes. Did you go to the sales centre?

Can anyone tell me the prices of The Wild Rose before it changed to the ones they have on the website now? The ones we would have bought it for?

Thanks!! Just curious....

Hi Pinksockguyswife-

When we purchased in Phase 1A (May 2008) the price of the wildrose was 471,990, 477,990 and 486,990.

ETA: I don't think you were looking for original pricing were you? Sorry I don't know what the pricing was 3 or 4 weeks ago....

Pinky> The Wild Rose was somewhere around $500 000-$505 0000 if I remember correctly.

They didn't change from the below until August 2009.

We bought the C in May 2009, and we appear to be living on Wild Rose street (I think Wettlaufer has at least 5, and I think 4 are 'C'.

Its funny you guys are looking at the option. Our home purchase went like this:
I liked the Hazlenut, my wife liked the Juneberry and both loved the Wild Rose, our only problem was the additional $$ which we promptly sucked it up and bought :)

I'm surprised you are worried. To be honest I didn't look at the 36' lot options with Arista/Greenpark/Fieldgate or even Mattamy for that matter, but for the 43' there was no contest imho that the layouts were much better in Mattamy (non-Spirit). Then again, it was just our taste. I think the Arista comes with Oak stairs, which saves about 4-5K off upgrading. When friends of ours bought back in Jan/Feb, they were able to get crazy discounts out of Arista (to to the tune of 20K in upgrades and 20K off the price).

Personally, the only house I liked from that group was the Fieldgate homes. But those 3 builders only offered 43's as there biggest and we wanted a 50' lot because our current home is a 36'. I like the Mattamy homes so I'm not worried.

And congrats to The Pinky's on the switch to the Wildrose! :P

FYI - My cousin called me at 1:30pm and said the line-up at Milton Trails is already at #53 for the 4pm release!

ahhh no worries at all
we are very happy with our house and even happier with the location and the neighbourhood

i received a message from Colin Best regarding the "ditch" behind the north houses .... old news now lol

Hi Sal and Christine

Sorry for the delay. I read the posts on the street specific thread and understand you are refering to the ditch on the north side of the street. In my previous pm I thought you were refering to the wooded creek valley to the west of the street.

I talked with Andrew Mason the technician in charge of the engineering for the Scott neighbourhood north of Derry road and received the following information.

" The ditch in question will be removed once the Mattamy/Intracorp homes develop the area. The ditch is on Mattamy lands and was the drainage ditch for the farms in the area."

If you have any further technical questions Andrew's email is andrew.mason@milton.ca or call hime at 905-878-7252 x 2515.
