We stopped by the pile of dirt today after my kid's doctor appointment, and the Intracorp building is up. Not open yet, but I'm really curious to see what they will offer...

No problemo. Before I bought, a great guy on the forum (mtown boy) let me come by and check out his Wild Rose and gave me lots of advise on upgrades and working Mattamy, so I gotta help out the next generation of WR owners :)

Hello Coombs Cr. neighbours

Glad to see so much interest in your new neighbourhood.
For anyone interested in the design of Tremaine Road between Derry Road and the new Main St. traffic circle there will be a public information centre on Thursday March 4th between 6 and 8.30 pm. at the Milton Sports Centre meeting room #2 on the north side of the rinks to present the proposed designs for the road, walkways and landscaping along this section of road which is scheduled to be completed by March 31st 2011 as part of the Federal/Provincial Infrastructure program.

Check www.halton.ca for more details under Tremaine Road construction.
I will also be posting this information on other threads and sites for all the neioghbours of Tremaine Road to be informed and involved in the design.

Hope to see you there.

Colin Best
Local & regional councillor
Milton/Halton

Hey guys, just encourage you to attend this public information session. I think that with Tremaine Rd being so close to our street and being one of the main street's for our community, we should have our 2 cents/input for development. We plan on attending this info session and hope to see you there. :P

We will try to make that session. I agree that its important to provide input where we can. With the street so close to us, noise may become an issue as is the speed limit with cars flying by (especially once they add the tremaine interchange, the road will get busier). Ideally they will put a sidewalk there plus a bikebath and maybe some noise reduction landscaping. It would also be good to reduce the speed limit from the current 80k/hr.

Also wanted to say that it was great seeing everyone on Saturday (and at the Design Centre on Sunday).

9 months until closing...woohoo :)

Does anyone know if you can put in valance lighting after you've done the backsplash?

You can but it's much harder. I don't recommend getting granite or backsplash through the builder!
It will be cheaper to do it after & easier to run the wires for the valance lights at the same time!

The granite will be cheaper, but the quartz is close to on par with aftermarket. The backsplash I would do after.

Dave from lot #14 sent me a price list the day after we bought. Walnut for elevation A/B = $413/420k.

Does anyone have a copy of the price list for the day we purchased? I had one, but can't find it.

So we did our structural appointment and got a preliminary drawing of our site.

- a sidewalk will be on the out ring as per the drawing
- the mail box and 1 Cogeco cable box will be on the outer ring just south of our lot next to the tree line
- we moved the hose bib to the front of the garage, charged us $60
- they do not offer smooth ceiling for the 2nd floor, but they do offer a smooth look stucco which is approx. $3000 for our place (unsure about this, but Monarch homes in Oakville has model homes with this look if you want to see it)
- delete bathroom accesories\mirror for the powder was free
- they only offer 1 conduit (basement to attic)
- relocating light fixtures, cable outlets and power outlets is free
- delete kitchen bulkheads is free
- as of now there are no foreseeable delays, but obviously no guarantees
- one thing our design rep told us that they try and avoid putting home entrances and driveways side by side for increased privacy for the home owner

Any other info you guys have regarding location of mailboxes, sidewalks, transformer boxes, cable boxes, etc - or any upgrade items. Just post it here. Cheers. :P

hi guys,

So we also had our structural appointment last week as well. Took over 3.5 hours! Coming out of it, we have a lot of little follow-ups that we need to decide on within 10 days (ie. location of cable outlets, speaker wires), specs for the slide-in range etc. As expected we have no cable boxes or fire hydrants in front, but do have the catch basin in the back corner of the yard (which we are fine with since we have draining issues with the sump pump in our current house so we welcome the catch basin). In the new houses it looks like they are putting the sump pump at the back of the house which has its pros and cons (not sure how that will look in the basement since it will break up the large space and will need to be built around when we finish the basement). Our house will also be built as the mirror image of the floorplan, which will take some getting used too, but at the same time is in line with the layout of our current house. Our driveway and Samreen's (lot 3) will be next to each other so I guess we will lose a bit of privacy that way but not a big deal since its what we're used to now as well.

Couple of questions coming out of the appointment that we'd like feedback on:
1) Do we need to get the gas hookup for the 4th appliance (stove) through Mattamy or is that easy to do afterwards? Mattamy charges $509 which includes the hookup plus a 110v additional outlet that is needed for the stove.
2) Anyone doing the central vac throught Mattamy? Not sure if the $1500 is a good price or if we are better off doing on our own later.
3) Hose bib - we never discussed the location of this. I know Dean moved it up to the front of the garage. It it normally further in the garage?
4) Kitchen cabinets - we have decided to upgrade to the Classic line (Maple Espresso) from the included Viking line. However Alex does not think there is much difference between the two lines and b/c of that wants to save the money and stick with what's included. What's everyone's thoughts on this? The included maple cabinet we were looking at is the P71 versus the classic line is TGP760. The thicker border of the classic line is what sold me....if anyone knows the cabinet I am referring to, then feedback would be appreciated.

We also had our exterior app. on the weekend. Took several hours and finally went with SS-5 package, which is a new one, and unfortunately all the houses we went to see did not have the stucco done yet. Cross our fingers that we will like it. The packages that we had initially liked were not made available to us b/c our neighbours brick colour would be the same. So although our home is stone and stucco in front, and the neighbour would be brick in front, hence look completely different, they would not allow it b/c the brick in the back of the house would be the same. Oh well not much we can do there.

So that's the long update from us!
D:)
