For anyone interested in seeing the future plans for Milton (not just the candidates) Monday March 22nd Administration and Planning committee has a full agenda and a number of initial, technical and development related items that will have an impact in all parts of Milton.

I would encourage you to read the agenda and if you have any concerns regarding any of these issues let your councillors and I know about them.

Colin Best
Local & regional councillor
Vice-Chair Milton Administration & Planning Committee
Candidate Local & regional councillor
Wards 2,3,4,5. North of Derry road.

Wow, that's definitely a full agenda! How long would you estimate the meeting would last for?

The last council meeting did last until around 11:30 pm. Committee meetings tend to be a little shorter I think (or I hope). I would say 10:30- 11 maybe. Then again, it is election season... so all bets are off.

There are a number of items in the consent section and those can be passed really quickly. The public meeting sections of the agenda might take some time.

Whys everyone so worried about how long itll take? HAHAH. I prefer the long meetings if things get done. If it takes forever and everyone is grandstanding (side affect of election year) then its a different story.

Reminds me of around election time in 2006 and my post about "Milton Masterpiece Theatre"

How was the meeting?
Over surprisingly early. I saw the Mayor a few days later, and even he thought we'd be there until 11:30, midnight. It was over by 11 or so.

There was a big issue over fencing along Thompson Road- a plan to put in a unifying fence along the homes that face onto Thompson road. They talked about the regional wastewater/water allocation program for new subdivisions, and Mattamy had their 478 home subdivision passed onto the next phase- a technical report.

That's about it.
