Hey Guys,

I'm just looking to see if there are any local ball hockey leagues (or pickup games if we can get enough players) that run during the Fall and/or Winter?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Rob

I haven't played since grade 7 or 8, but I might be in on that. (Shift work willing, anyways)

Count me in for ball hockey as well.

Maybe we could get a few teams together and find a place to play.

I think he was looking for info on a league, not asking who wants to join. :) Either way, I'd be interested too and if enough are, we can always start a HV team! I don't know of any league in Milton myself though.

He asked for "pick-up" players too. I think that's what we're all responding to.

Urban Sports Club

This place runs a hockley league in the fall and winter. It starts September 15th, but it's in Burlington.

Good responses so far guys....do you think we can get enough to form a team ? It looks like we have 5-7 guys so far, we need atleast 11 - I would think to form our own team....thoughts?

Any goalies out there?

I liked playing goal when I was a kid, but I don't have ANY goalie equipment anymore. :(

I might be able to convince the wife that it's a worthwhile expense for some used stuff from Play It Again, or something.
Do we have a more local place to play yet? Or can we just pretend we're 12 and block a side street?

Call me 85% committed.
I work rotating shift work right now, so I can't give you the same day of the week 100% of the time. Due to that, as much as I'm willing to play goal, I'd hate to leave you short some weeks...
I'd also prefer more local (as opposed to Brampton/Burlington/Oakville) just because of having 2 young kids and liking to see them and help out the wife.

Now, having said all that...If my job changes in the next few weeks (fingers crossed!) I can change all of the above issues!

I'd love to play.

Since it's ball hockey, I'm assuming zero contact. So why not let the ladies play?

I still don't have an answer on the new job, but I thought I'd try to keep this alive.
Looks like we could have school gym space for about $55/night. Is there a night that works for most people? (I'm still on the "hit & miss" shift work for now. :( )
If we're in a gym, do we want to use a tennis ball, instead of an orange ball-hockey ball? (Would reduce the amount of equipment...no helmets, etc.)
How many people have we got, so far? Enough for 2 teams? 4?

We would have to go orange ball - the tennis ball is way too bouncy. Depending on the size of the gym, we can do either 4 on 4 (with a goalie) or 5 on 5 (with a goalie) if its a full gym.

The hardest part is getting two goalie to committ to coming every week....for without them, its not worth playing.

Anyday works for me...we should try and get this going.!
