we would be interested in the garage door opener as well. What about installation? I know Sears and other places sometimes include installation...unless you think its fairly easy to install?

Install I don't think is an issue. I usually do it myself. I will contact them and see if I can get a group rate.

We might be interested.....we purchased openers already when there was a really good sale but are rethinking our purchase due to the potential noise underneath our youngest's room. Might have to return them. This one looks pretty good. Anyone find any online reviews?[/quote]

I wanna try and get these ordered for November, but suggestions on when the order can be placed etc are welcome.

There are only 3 reviews on theHome Depot.com site, but all 5 out of 5. Did I mention they have a lifetime warranty?

So I guess lets get a list started?

Does anyone know which model to buy? The cheapest one, synoris 550, is good for a 7ft door, up to 550 lbs. I have no idea what my door would weigh...or how tall it is for that matter.

I think th synoris 550 is good for a door 16x7 according to the company. If you have a single door maybe you guys should move up to the synoris 800 which would be $280 with the discount. But the 550 is rated at 3/4 hp which should be more than enough. I know the small single doors should use 1/2 hp, but they don't sell anything that small.
