I cannot wait to get the new SimCity.... It has been far to long.

Game looks awesome... time to dust off my bootcamp and start playing! lol

We'll have to make a Velodrome model so I can complete my Milton model.

Downloaded this off Origin the other night.

Great series, poor execution on EA's part. some things that annoyed me:

- Currently it's very buggy and will crash your computer often.
- The city tiles are very small.
- Regions are all pre-made, no more terraforming.
- Over simplified city management.

There are some very cool features though, hopefully EA can fix the issues.

Whattttttt? Terraforming is the best, I always made perfectly flat cities lol, not very interesting, but easy and efficient to build on, and sims don't seem to be interested in skiing or mountain climbing

Seems to have crashed and burned

Amazon has stopped selling the downloadable version of SimCity after hundreds of incensed gamers gave the just-launched game one-star reviews.

The SimCity – Standard Edition was removed from Amazon's virtual shelves on Thursday. The always-online game has been mostly unplayable since it launched on Tuesday because of problems with EA's servers.

"Currently unavailable, we don't know when or if this item will be available again," Amazon's product page reads.

Amazon has also published an "important note" which tells fans of the urban-planning simulator that many customers have had issues connecting to the SimCity servers.

This latest version of SimCity needs a stable internet connection to work, unlike previous titles in the series.

EA says this is necessary even for single-player games because the processing for inter-city modelling is done in EA's server farm. Critics of the system have said it is merely a hyper-cynical form of digital rights management.

It is much more difficult to pirate a game if it's built partially around a client-server architecture. But if your servers fail, customers who have stumped-up hard cash for your title can be left out in the cold.

WTF? Epic fail on EA's part, I would never buy a game that requires an internet connection to play even in single player mode. These reviews are disappointing, definitely will be sticking with Simcity 4, which is still just fine IMO.

EA has been doing stupid things for a while now. I'd recommend that everyone stops buying games from EA.
off the top of my head:
- Simcity issues (online only).
- taking exclusive rights to athletes, teams, car manufacturers, etc.
- their upcoming micro transactions for games.
- Origin....them taking your info and using it for what they want.

i'm sure there's more to add but those are just off the top of my head. if people stop buying games by EA or start buying used only. they will eventually get the point to stop dicking around with gamers.

BAHA! That was the best review ever. I didn't know that Cartman was a real person. The 2L pop bottle was priceless.
