For anyone interested in the future plans for Milton, Monday's (March 18th) Administration & Planning Committee meeting at 7 pm in the Town Hall (150 Mary St.) council chambers, could give you a good overview of planning applications and the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law which will take effect after the Official Plan OMB appeals later this year or next.
All council and committee meetings are open to the public and a registration list is located at the entrance to the council chambers for you to register if you want to be notified of future meetings and reports regarding the planning item you are concerned about.

The first by Sutherland Homes is an application for 286 condominium apartments in the last vacant square on the south side of Main St. E. between James Snow Parkway and Sinclair Blvd. This application is similar to the other buildings on the south side of Main St. E. and opposite on Maple Avenue, is a proposal for four 4 storey buildings plus a recreation centre which planning staff and the applicants agent will introduce, then the meeting is opened up for the committee and public questions and comments on the application which is then referred back to staff to review the comments and prepare a technical report for later council review and a decision usually within 3-9 months depending on the complexity of the report.
The second public meeting is for a temporary use application for a horticultural use on Guelph Line just north of the hamlet of Brookville.
The third public meeting is a presentation by staff on the next step of the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law which is being done to conform with the new Regional and Town Official plan and provincial planning policies. There is a number of items in this report affecting both the urban and rural areas which staff will be giving a detailed presentation on such issues as height limits, future development areas, downtown uses and parking and rural planning policies.
